Fans of the Twilight series and other fantasy novels, especially those intrigued by the notion of time travel, will find much to sink their teeth into here. Although no vampires are involved, Michelle Windsor is an experienced time traveler (See the first, Timeless, for how that came about), who had to leave her one true love behind in 1910 to return to the present day. Imagine her surprise when he shows up as the new boy in her high school classroom. She is overjoyed to see him, but unfortunately, he remembers nothing of their past encounters and thinks that she might be, well, a little crazy. So the focus of the book is on her helping him remember their shared history, along with various forays into the past as she time travels back and forth between the nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first centuries. In the process finding long-hidden journals in a secret passage, discovering the reason for her father's sudden disappearance from her mother's life, losing the magic key that enables her time travel, and, yes, overcoming evil at the same time. Fans of the fantasy genre who want to believe that true love never dies and that reincarnation is a reality will enjoy this book. Time traveler Michele Windsor never imagined that anything could take her attention from the new boy at her school who looks exactly like her lost gilded age love, Phillip Walker. Yet, when a menacing woman appears from the past, Michele's attention shifts. Why is this threatening woman stalking Michele, and is the woman's looming presence the reason Phillip cannot remember? Using her father's time-traveling key and diary, Michele must discover the reason for the woman's increasing presence—otherwise, Michele's time may run out. The intense relationship between Michele and Phillip introduced in book one is upstaged in this second installment by the appearance of the mysterious woman in black. Indeed, her anachronistic presence adds a welcome tension and suspense to the series; this, combined with the stalled romance from book one, makes for a layered, engaging, and slightly creepy read. As in book one, the time travel is marvelously crafted by Monir; the plot leaps between the decades from 1885 to the year 2010 without the reader feeling the jarring effects of the change in either dialogue or scenery. The details of New York City's gilded age and World War II era is riveting through Michele's eyes, and the addition of new characters puts a fresh spin on the current century. While Michele's acceptance of her father seems a bit easy, loose ends in the novel are conveniently wrapped up, and the climax feels a bit rushed, the intrigue in the story is enough to satisfy readers who enjoy time-travel fiction.     Great time travel romance!

    This was another 5 star book from Monir! Just as great as the first! What a magical romance set in 18th century New York. A truly great read...don't miss this one!

    I loved Timeless, book one in the series, and dove right into Ti

    I loved Timeless, book one in the series, and dove right into Timekeeper immediately after closing the cover on Timeless. With that huge cliffhanger ending, I just had to know what would happen next. And I'm happy to say that I loved Timekeeper just as much as Timeless. There was definitely no second-in-a-series syndrome with this book!

    I was expecting a sweet love story and a nice fast-paced plot, based on how Timeless read for me. But Timekeeper had a much more intense plot than book one. With all the world-building complete, Monir really took off with the story, making for a great read. I was surprised and pleased at the plot's intricacy. I loved everything about this book!

    The love story was so well-done. Monir hit the perfect note, keeping things clean enough for YA but emotional enough to satisfy the reader. Michele and Phillip have to work hard to find their love and to get back together----which was a nice change of pace. I like it when things don't just magically fall into place in characters' lives just because they are in love. The fact that Michele and Phillip had serious obstacles to overcome made their relationship that much stronger and sweeter.

    The villian was a nice surprise and definitely kept things interesting. The conflict resolution was really well-handled and added a lot to the story. I can't wait for book three...I highly recommend this series!

    Surprised and delighted!

    After reading Timeless and enjoying it immensely, I thought it would be hard to follow up with a sequel that would match the fervor and freshness. But I must say Monir did a wonderful job with Timekeeper and brought more sophistication and flow to the already intriguing story line. The love story has it's unique sweetness! Thank you to Monir for allowing the backstories to come forward and for us to see it all in such a cinematic way. Monir's books fit all ages but definitely perfect for young adults and her pen is heartfelt and sincere.

    " What a lovely sequel to Timeless! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The first few pages swept me up and drew me in immediately and I found myself unwilling to let the book out of my grips until I reached the very last page. Both the writing and the content definitely matured and flourished in this book. I was thrilled to learn more about Michele's parents, as the first book didn't delve deeply into their story. I particularly loved the journal entries written by her father. Truly, my only wish is that there were a third book to complete the series! I very much look forward to reading more by Alexandra Monir!

    This book is magical. I loved how Monir described the time peri

    This book is magical. I loved how Monir described the time periods in her books. She is very discriptive in her writing that every time I picked up the book, I felt I was experiencing time trave as well. This book has all of your emotions on a thrilling roller coaster!! I loved the series and, I can't wait to read more of her books.

    Disappointed

    I was so excited to finally have the sequel come out. I didn't like the idea of reincarnation. I think the whole idea of time travel got warped using that.

    Sweet read

    Enjoyed this, her second book in the 2 book series, enough that I wished she had at lease one more of these. A nice change from the everyday girl meets boy, falls in love blah, blah blah... Loved the time travel aspect.. All in all it's a nice easy read for 13 to 17 age group.

    I'm halfway through and though the story is an enjoyable and qui

    I'm halfway through and though the story is an enjoyable and quick read, it is totally bothering me that Caissie's best friend and crush Iis named Matt in this book when he was Aaron in "Timeless".  I can suspend disbelief on many things, but an entirely different name just keeps pulling me out of the story.  Disappointing....
