Meet the Author

Poul Anderson’s “Time Patrol” stories fascinated me. But he never fully explained how the new timelines came to be, i.e. not enough history. Later works in this genre tend to dive deep into only one altered timeline, often bogging down with too much history. Having failed to find stories with the right balance, I decided to write my own. This effort comes after having worked as a Customs Inspector and manager (Los Angeles, Washington DC, San Diego); school teacher (History and English); and civilian advisor in Afghanistan. I served in the Marines, have a degree in History from UCLA and live in San Diego. As an author I have to use my middle name (Lee) to avoid being mistaken for my distant relative, Col. Rex Applegate (1914-1998) who is famous among people interested in hand-to-hand combat techniques.
