Overview

"There is a reason you are the color of snow", cautioned Aurora, the she-keeper of colors in the great North Pacific. Yet, TiQri the little snow fox, bored with his white winter coat, begs to be transformed into the colors of the northern lights, like his friend. However, each vivid color sets TiQri in contrast against the stark white of winter's snow and unable to hunt or to scavenge the scraps of food left by Ice Bear, he is left hungry and sad. With no more colors to give, Aurora transforms her friend's coat back to the color it was meant to be; as white as winter. The next day, hungry and scavenging for breakfast, he snatches the scraps of food left by Ice Bear and learns a very important lesson: in winter, there is a reason he is the color of snow!

A performance CD with activities and information designed to expand understanding of the North Pacific and its endangered species accompanies the book.
