All Music Guide - Steve Huey
Scared of Chaka keep going strong on Tired of You, and although their fifth full-length album doesn't change the formula much -- it's still garagey punk-pop with lyrical attitude to spare -- fans of the band and the style will enjoy the record.

    Their best record.

Even though 'Masonic Youth' kicks ass, I think that this album is just a bit better. Track 4 is probably my favorite song of theirs &amp amp quot and to my knowledge I have all of their 7-inches, ep's, splits, and full-length's&amp amp quot . If you heard of SOC because Dave is currently in The Shins, then I would check their stuff out online before you buy it. SOC is not like The Shins: they were a raw blend of garage, punk, rock&amp amp amp amp roll, and pop. I was fortunate enough to see them both times they came to Pittsburgh and I truly miss them. Along with the Motards, they were the two bands from the 90's that really stuck with me. I found out about both bands through MRR and I thought that they were better than just about any of the bands in that zine at the time. I just wished they would have released a live DVD because they had such great energy on stage. RIP SOC.
