Meet the Author

Kate Hardy

Kate Hardy is an award-winning author of more than 50 books for Harlequin Mills & Boon. Her novel 'Breakfast at Giovanni's' won the RNA Romance Prize in 2008 and she's been shortlisted three more times for the award, as well as for two Romantic Times awards.

She lives in Norwich in the east of England with her husband, two children, a springer spaniel called Byron, and too many books to count. She's a bit of a nerd who loves cinema, the theatre, history and cooking (which is why she has to go to the gym five times a week - oh, and to ballroom dancing lessons), and adores anything Italian. She loves doing research, particularly if it's hands-on and means experimenting with cooking (on her website, most of her books have a recipe connected to them). Reviewers say that her books are full of warmth, heart and charm - and also that you'll learn something new and interesting from them!

Heidi Rice

USA Today bestselling author Heidi Rice is married with two teenage sons (which gives her rather too much of an insight into the male psyche). She also works as a film journalist and was born in Notting Hill in West London (before it became as chi-chi as it is in the film starring Hugh Grant). She now lives in Islington in North London - a stone's throw away from where they shot Four Weddings and a Funeral... (She has asked Hugh very politely to stop stalking her, but will he listen?)

She loves her job because it involves sitting down at her computer each day and getting swept up in a world of high emotions, sensual excitement, funny feisty women, sexy tortured men and glamourous locations where laundry doesn't exist ... Not bad, eh.

Then she gets to turn off her computer and do chores (usually involving laundry!)

Amy Andrews

Amy Andrews is an award-winning author who has written twenty-eight romance novels. She has sold over a million books and has been translated into a dozen different languages. In 2010 she took out the sexy category in the prestigious Australian Romantic Book of the Year Award.

In what she euphemistically likes to call her spare time, she works part time as a pediatric intensive care nurse. She is married with two teenagers and lives on acreage on the outskirts of Brisbane with a gorgeous mountain view.

Aimee Carson

The summer she turned eleven, Aimee left the children’s section of the library, entered an aisle full of romance novels, and pulled out a book. That story sparked a love affair with the genre that has never faded.

Armed with a fantastic part-time job as a physician in the Alaskan Bush (imagine a combination of Northern Exposure and E.R., minus the beautiful mountains and George Clooney), she enjoys being home in the gorgeous Black Hills of South Dakota, riding her dirt bike with her three wonderful kids and beyond-patient husband. But every morning while working on her latest novel, she gets to play God and flirt vicariously through her characters.

Her motto? Life is too short to do anything less than what you absolutely love. She counts herself lucky to have two jobs she adores.

If you are looking for a sexy festive read then this anthology ticks all the boxes. Four well-written novella's, four swoonworthy loveable men, four lovely ladies and whilst the weather is against them, Cupid certainly isn't...

'Tis the Season to Kiss Santa - Kate Hardy (4 stars)

I want to kiss Santa. And not the rotund cuddly grandfather type chap. No I want the brooding businessman who appears more Scrooge than St. Nick. It's sweet, sexy, touching and humbling and Mitch and Ellie are completely loveable. Fills you with festive warmth.

'Tis the Season to Get Lucky - Heidi Rice (5 stars)

Of the four, this was the one that stole it for me. Sexy, fun, romantic and captivating, it flows well, has wonderful loveable in Kate and Ryder, their festive frolics are fabulous and it has a witty yet completely touching storyline. I was chuffed to bits with it.

'Tis the Season to be Kissed - Amy Andrews (4 stars)

Combine a slightly drunken but sensible kindergarten teacher with a fabulously hot military man, add a snowstorm, a game of strip scrabble, ten tiny dates and you get a far from boring New Years Eve. Light, fun and sexy and both Tamara and Luke are wonderful characters.

'Tis the Season to be Tempted - Aimee Carson (3.5 stars)

With a fun yet totally hot seduction treat, I loved Evie's sass, snip yet vulnerability and Wes' witty and protective streak. I would have liked a bit more to the ending but it was still a great little read.

    ***

To summise, well worth reading and I could have happily read a full length novel containing each couple. I was tempted, got lucky and would happily kiss every one of our hero's.

A wonderful set of holiday stories!

‘Tis the Season to Kiss Santa by Kate Hardy - 3 stars

Mitch is not a fan of Christmas, but he is determined to impress his boss to be considered for a promotion. So off he heads to dress up as Santa to hand out presents to kids. Once there he meets Ellie the woman temporary in charge of the event. Ellie is in the States to away from her family and start a new life. Her first impression of Santa is not the best, but fate has another plan in mind for these two. Having to spend some time alone while a storm passes through Mitch and Ellie get to know each other better while their attraction builds in the background.

Although I liked this story, I have to admit that I did not feel connected to either character. Their stories were interesting but I can’t help but think that there was much more that could have been revealed about them. I enjoyed their conversions and the author did a great job of bringing their attraction to the page. Their connection felt a little underdeveloped, but not enough for me to not want to see where their time together would lead.

All in all, a sweet, romantic story with emotional overtones.

‘Tis the Season to Get Lucky by Heidi Rice - 4 stars

Ryder Sinclair is back in town to visit is daughter fro Christmas and is visiting his father’s store for a present. In walks Kate, the new PR manager for the store. She knows of Ryder and what she knows does not impress her. Having to spend an evening locked up in the store waiting out a storm is not what she had planned, especially in the company of the playboy-heir of the company.

This was such a fun story. I enjoyed watching as Kate’s assumptions about Ryder were put to rest and in its place an irresistible attraction to the man developed. Ryder was sweet, caring and flirtatious. His first impression of Kate thrown out the window as soon as put down her walls and let herself enjoy the moment. I loved Kate’s flustered state and her hesitation to give in to her attraction to Ryder.

I liked that Heidi Rice brought some emotions to the mix and revealed a significant amount of Ryder and Kate’s story. I felt connected to them, which helped me accept and thoroughly enjoy the moments these two spend together and the final outcome.

All in all, a romantic and hot story with interesting characters who I would love to read more about.

‘Tis the Season to be Kissed by Amy Andrews - 5 stars

Tamara is staying at her best friends’ parents’ cottage in the woods for New year’s Eve. She made a resolution the year before that she was going to stay away from meaningless encounters with men and she just doesn’t want to be kissing another dead end. What she was not counting on was to be sharing the cottage with Georgia’s brother, Luke.

Luke just returned from a tour in Afghanistan and just wants to sleep his weariness away. But having to share the space with the attractive woman posses a challenge. One he is gladly to accept.

Through flirtatious banter and humorous dialogue, Amy Andrews delivered a wonderful story of new beginnings. There were emotions thrown into the mix along with a heap of explosive chemistry. These two just lighted up the room anytime their eyes met. I loved the tension their mutual attraction brought and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Luke was sweet, caring and completely in lust with Tamara. I enjoyed his way of thinking and the way the author went about him finally getting together with Tamara. Their coupling was flirty and fun with an abundance of passion. I loved it!

All in all, an amazing sexy read with fun and interesting characters that will heat up your holidays!

‘Tis the Season to be Tempted by Aimee Carson - 5 stars

Wes and Evie have know each other since they were kids. It has always been Wes’ role to protect Evie against anything and this time is no different. Although it has been a while since they have spoken, when they meet again in an airplane they pick up their banter as if no time has passed.

Evie has always found Wes attractive and perfect. Perfect job, perfect life, always doing the right thing. Now that she has returned home and with a little liquid courage in her system she is determined to see him loose some of his precious control.

OMG, I loved, LOVED this story!!! Aimee Carson did an amazing job in drawing me into the story by making Wes and Evie’s chance meeting one that was packed-full of humor and flirtatious banter. I loved Evie from the moment she opened her mouth and she just made it impossible for me not to like her as the story progressed. Wes too was a wonderful character to get to know. Man, he was so conflicted over his feelings for Evie. And to see him lose complete control when confronted with his attraction for her was a fantastic sight to see.

All in all, a hot little romance with fun characters that I would love to know more about.

‘Tis the Season to Kiss Santa by Kate Hardy (3 Stars)

This was a nice little story. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, I felt disconnected from the characters. However, I was still able to enjoy the book.

Because of Mitch's upbringing, he isn't a fan of Christmas. In fact he's been called Ebenezer. It's not that Mitch is a bad guy, because he isn't. His past just doesn’t hold the memories of what great Christmases are all about. When his boss questions if he has a heart, Mitch puts on a Santa suit for one hour to prove that he does.

Ellie loves Christmas. After getting divorced and losing her business, she is in the U.S. to help her Godmother who is recovering from hip surgery and find out what she wants to do next with her life.

An unexpected blizzard traps these two together on Christmas Eve and together they find a love of Christmas and discover that sometimes it's okay to take risks.

‘Tis the Season to Get Lucky by Heidi Rice (4 Stars)

I loved this story. ‘Tis the Season to Get Lucky was so much more than I was expecting. This is definitely a Christmas romance NOT to be missed. Appearances are not always as they seem and this story is a perfect example of that. ‘Tis the Season to Get Lucky made me laugh, smile, and fall in love with Ryder and Kate.

Ryder Sinclair is the heir apparent to the Sinclair department store. He doesn’t make a lot of appearances at the store but he pulls down a pretty nice paycheck. Ryder is seen as a jet setting playboy without a care in the world. Kate Braithwaite is spending her first Christmas in America. Her new job as a PR manager for Sinclair’s is very important to her and she loves it. She loves it so much so....she’s willing to go to work on Christmas Day, without being asked to.

Ryder happens to be in the store on Christmas Day looking for a present. He doesn’t expect anyone to be there and is surprised to find Kate there. With a large snow storm approaching, the two end up being trapped in the store, waiting for the storm to pass and the lights to come back on. But in the midst of everything, these two discover that they made rash judgements about each other and this Christmas they are going to receive one of the best presents ever...a love like no other.

‘Tis the Season to be Kissed by Amy Andrews (4 Stars)

It’s New Year’s Eve and Tamara, a Kindergarten teacher, has decided not to go to New York City with her friend, Georgia, to watch the ball drop. Instead, she’s spending New Year’s Eve alone at a cabin owned by Georgia’s parents.

Sergeant Luke Jackson wants to surprise his older sister, Georgia for her birthday. He spends thirty-six hours traveling from Afghanistan to the U.S. Due to a horrible snowstorm, he ends up going to his family’s cabin in Vermont. After walking two miles through a blizzard, Luke is greeted by an unexpected golf club wielding guest.

It’s fifteen hours until midnight and Tamara is already drunk on eggnog. Because she knows that kissing leads to other things, she has a ten date rule, before she will kiss a guy. But when the sexy soldier shows up, she starts to question her own ten date rule. Tamara is definitely attracted to Luke, but he’s off limits, since he’s her friend’s brother. Luke desperately wants to be Tamara’s New Year’s Eve kiss. Over the course of twelve hours, Luke manages to pull off ten non-traditional, yet fun and sometimes romantic dates with Tamara. Once the kiss

What is better than an anthology with four holiday stories? We have two Christmas novellas and two New Year's Eve stories. You'll find sexy heroes and sassy heroines. All they want for Christmas is true love and a HEA. These novellas are sexy, romantic and humorous. They are the perfect stress reliever for this busy time of year. I enjoyed them all. If you want a relaxing read, this bundle is for you. I read each when they came out but I love that Entangled wrapped them up with a bow for our reading pleasure.

I loved each of these novellas. I reviewed them individually in November and was excited to see them bundled together.

'Tis the Season to Kiss Santa was the 1st thing I'd read by Kate Hardy. I thought it was really good, the only downside was I wished it had been longer. Mitch made a good Scrooge like character, and Ellie was the perfect opposite for him. Really sweet short.

'Tis the Season to Get Lucky by Heidi Rice was tied as my favorite out of the bundle. Loved loved loved it. Who hasn't ever had the fantasy of being locked in a department store overnight? And to be stuck with Ryder Sinclair? Now that's a nice Christmas gift.

'Tis the Season to be Kissed by Amy Andrews was the other novella tied as my favorite. While they both had funny moments, this one just felt deeper to me. I would give anything to read a full length about this couple getting together. That's how you know it's a really good novella.

'Tis the Season to be Tempted by Aimee Carson took me a little longer to get into, but once I did I really liked it. I liked the fact that Evie didn't do things because it was easier. I liked that Wes ended up missing that. Cute story of a childhood crush grown up.

"tis the season ... these are 4 delightful stories for your Christmas and New Year's Eve. Our characters are all caught in a blizzard and in very unique circumstances in each of these stories. These stories are very amusing and witty. A perfect present for friends who enjoy lighthearted novellas with a twist. Glad I read them!
