Editorial Reviews

Abby McCarrel
A Must Read!

TLC for Frazzled Kids brings adults back to the core principles of good parenting and therapeutic interventions, focusing on positive, strength-based, non-punitive interactions with children. As parents and caregivers, we can be quick to react and step into conflicts with children that express our frustration, but do not honor the child's needs. Hence, we miss out on opportunities to teach and build self-esteem.

Loved this little book!

Don't let the modest size of TLC for Frazzled Kids: Helping Grown Ups Help Kids by Nancy Goodell and Ann Garrett fool you. Its 104 pages are packed with so much wisdom that, while reading it, I kept asking myself "Where was this book when I needed it?" This mighty little book could also be titled TLC for Frazzled Parents of Frazzled Kids. Every page within every short chapter throws a lifeline to parents.

Outstanding resource

This book is pure gold. Nancy Goodell and Ann Garrett have distilled decades of working with children into an easy-to-follow and effective method for creating sanity and peace when children are in meltdown. As an elementary school teacher, I've watched children physically relax and begin problem solving when I use these strategies to facilitate conflicts -- both on the playground and in the classroom.

Excellent Dealing-with-Kids Tool Book

TLC for Frazzled Kids shares most enlightened and practical ways to deal not only with the disoriented children in their classrooms but with themselves as teachers. The phenomenal wisdom from discipline and practice is clearly illustrated and defined so anyone can use this in their own lives and with their families. I found it very everyday-usable as a resource for my own learning difficulties and psychological left-overs.

A Treasure of a Book!

TLC for Frazzled Kids is an easy to read and relate to treasure of wisdom and perspective for parents, teachers, grandparents, for anyone who wants to understand and communicate better with children. The book is filled with life experience, humor and presents its key points clearly in a way that really engages the reader and inspires creative problem solving and deeper compassion for the child's viewpoint.
