• Today's New International Version (TNIV)---'Timeless truth. Today's language.' That's the heartbeat of the TNIV. Overcoming the language barriers for today's readers, this translation puts the Bible into everyday words witn uncompromising accuracy. It's the real deal: God's Word, straight and to the point.
• The Message//REMIX---Created by Eugene Peterson for today's reader, The Message reads as if God were sitting across from you, talking with you over a cup of coffee. And the REMIX restores verse references to The Message so you can quickly relate the place you're reading to other Bibles if you want to. This Bible includes The Message//REMIX's book introductions, so you can start your reading of each book of the Bible with all the information you need to really know what it's saying. The more time you spend in TNIV/The Message//REMIX Parallel Bible, the more you'll be able to read, think, pray and live in the truth.

    Great Potential, Poor Result

Both the TNIV and The Message are great Bibles so I was really eager to see them together in one volume. But when I opened the book I was stunned to see that it's printed in 6.5 point mouse type. This is the same size as the fine print in an insurance contract. Bibles are more typically set in 9 point type. So unless you're well under 40, you won't be able to read this edition for more than a few minutes (if at all) before an eyestrain headache sets in. If you're approaching or over 40, this book is not for you. Zondervan, what were you thinking?
