Overview

A HONEYCOTE novella from award-winning author Anne Barton.

"Anne Barton is a delightful new voice in historical romance!"
--Tessa Dare, New York Times bestselling author on Once She Was Tempted

TO ALL THE RAKES I'VE LOVED BEFORE

After being jilted by her former beau, Miss Amelia Wimple retreated to her Mayfair town house and her ever-growing collection of gossips rags. Now, almost two years later, not even her beloved cousins, Rose and Olivia Sherbourne, can persuade her to give love another chance. But an unexpected midnight caller may open her heart once more.

Lord Stephen Brookes is the prince of pleasure, the duke of decadence-and it seems his exploits have finally caught up with him. When Stephen comes to Amelia seeking refuge, she can't deny him . . . or the intense desire he sparks. As he attempts to heal her broken heart, they indulge in a private passion unlike anything either has experienced. Stephen knows sweet, sensual Amelia is meant to be his one and only. Now, he will do whatever it takes to convince her that a rake really can change his ways.

(a sexy Regency novella of 25,000 words)

Meet the Author

Anne Barton began swiping romance novels off her mom's bookshelf as a teenager, so when she had the chance to spend a semester in London-home to her favorite heroes-she packed her bags and promptly fell in love with the city, its history, and its pubs. She dreamed of writing romance, but somehow ended up a software analyst instead.

Fortunately, a few years and a few careers later, Anne found her way back to writing the stories she loves and in 2011 won the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart® for Regency Historical Romance. She lives in Maryland with her husband (who, sadly, is not a peer of the realm-but a great guy nonetheless) and her three children, who try valiantly not to roll their eyes whenever she quotes Jane Austen. Her weaknesses include reality TV, cute-but-impractical shoes, and caffeinated beverages of all kinds.

Is there a reason BN is charging $10 for this 100-page ebook, when the publisher and everyone else (BN's rivals) is only charging $.99 for it?! While I'm enjoying this series, I refuse to overpay.

TO ALL THE RAKES I'VE LOVED by Anne Barton is an exciting Regency Historical Romance. A Novella. #1.5 in "A Honeycote Novel" series, but can be read as a stand alone. See, "When She Was Wicked". Fast paced and a quick read! Join Lord Stephen Brookes and Miss Amelia Wimple, her beloved cousins Rose and Olivia Sherbourne as they navigate the waters of romance, desire and the prospect of love. I enjoyed "To All the Rakes I've Loved" very much, it is a sweet story of love, desire, and healing a broken heart. A notorious rake, battered and in desperate need of care and a reclusive heroine, what could be better! Both lonely and in desperate need to love. A must read! Well done! The characters are engaging and enduring to say the least. The storyline compelling and interesting and "To All the Rakes I've Love" will leave you smiling as well as satisfied. A sweet novella! Received for an honest review from the publisher and Net Galley.

Oh my, but I have spent hours daydreaming about being swept away

Oh my, but I have spent hours daydreaming about being swept away by a Regency rapscallion and it seems so has Ann Barton for she brings to life a sublimely delightful scoundrel with this story. I remember reading that a reformed rake makes the best mate and let me tell you Lord Stephen Brookes is one very successful seducer. He is ultimately charming and genuinely likable. I love that his feelings run deep and that he makes no excuses for his outlandish behavior. Amelia is a wonderful heroine who I found it very easy to relate to, because who hasn’t felt like an outcast? I enjoyed her non-traditional attitudes and her no-nonsense manner. I was fond of the sweet yet sexy story and the fun adventure it took me on. The author has a skillful style with description and dialogue and this novella has turned me into a fan and I cannot wait to read the other Honeycote books.
