Narrator John McDonough brings Father Tim Kavanagh to life, along with the other folksy characters of Jan Karon's beloved Mitford series. McDonough’s pacing brings a level of depth and appreciation to Karon's writing that allows the listener to savor the story. Father Tim is given a full-time job after struggling over how to find his self-worth in retirement. J.C. Hogan's marital woes are still at issue, one well-known character will die, and the mayor of Mitford still keeps running term after term. Returning to Mitford as a listener continues to feel like visiting family and old friends. The continuity of McDonough as narrator ensures that listeners will enjoy visiting again.
