About the Author

Candice A. Whigham is a wife, mother, educator and author of the book, ​The Urban Chronicles of Mia Lewis​. While her goal is to see all women and girls succeed, she has a particular burden for those who are Black. In a world where misogynoir, colorism, sexism and other 'isms continue to result in roadblocks to success, Candice wanted to offer words of wisdom from various sources. In this book, the women or aunties, as they are affectionately called, provide the readers with wisdom acquired throughout their lives. Hopefully, the advice candidly expressed between these pages will encourage all girls and women, regardless of their current journey, to live authentic and successful lives.
Tyrus Solomon also known as TySolo is a 25 year old multifaceted creative from South Louisiana; small town Roseland, LA just 40 minutes north of New Orleans. Tyrus enjoys painting, drawing and illustrating. He uses his gifts, skills and talents to accredit everyone he serves with quality art so that their vision is complete and tangible. Tyrus teaches painting, curates markets, utilizes his skills in photography, web design, graphic design and art direction amongst a fleet of collaborative tools. He's also been recognized by legends such as famous soul singer Erykah Badu and MAGNUM Photographer Thomas Hoepker. Tyrus knows that it is his calling to share his gifts with the world and he urges others to do the same.
