About the Author

Candice A. Whigham is a wife, mother, educator and author of the book, The Urban Chronicles of Mia Lewis. While her goal is to see all women and girls succeed, she has a particular burden for those who are Black. In a world where misogynoir, colorism, sexism and other 'isms continue to result in roadblocks to success, Candice wanted to offer words of wisdom from various sources. In this book, the women or aunties, as they are affectionately called, provide the readers with wisdom acquired throughout their lives. Hopefully, the advice candidly expressed between these pages will encourage all girls and women, regardless of their current journey, to live authentic and successful lives.
