Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Vicki Foote
Kito, a chow dog, and his dog friends live in Pembrook, a small village in northern Minnesota. In this fourth book in the series, the dogs have a mystery to solve. Someone has been stealing valuable fishing lures. The dogs are able to run around the village, so they meet every morning at the fire hydrant in the village to discuss the latest news. They devise a plan to catch the burglar that involves using a lure as bait and spilled paint to follow his tracks. The dogs work together, manipulating these devices to catch the crook while still having to do regular dog things with their owners, such as having to go to the vet to get shots. All this leads to an exciting climax when the dogs chase the thief in his truck in a freezing rain. After he is caught, there is a happy ending that includes meatballs and doggie treats. The story is filled with humor and loveable dog characters. Readers will enjoy their antics and adventures. Occasional black-and-white illustrations throughout the book mostly show Kito and his sidekick Chester in their pursuits.

    Very much Enjoyed

This book didn't disappoint me since I read the other dog Watch books. Once I started it, I didn't want to stop. One of the suspects for the robberies in this book really surprised me, but I was pleased through and through.
