AMAZING BOOK-A MUST READ!!

TO CATCH A PIRATE was an amazing book! In this book there is adventure, romance, and even some suspense. It is told in alternating views between Anna, a 17 year-old girl, and James Sterling, a pirate. When their paths cross there is an instant chemistry that has you rooting for them through the whole book! James is charming and¿dangerous, which makes him even more captivating.
I think the main point is finding who you¿re supposed to be with. Fighting the odds of society and being who you want to be no matter what everyone says. The author brought so many emotions into one book, making it so that you couldn¿t put it down until you were finished! I¿d recommended this book to all my friends. You have to read TO CATCH A PIRATE!

    One of my Favorites!

This was one of the best books I have read in awhile. I read it all in one night. I just simply couldn't bear to put it down. In fact I loved it so much that I read it twice in a row. The first six chapters are great but after that the book is exceptional. The characters are well developed and very expressive. James Sterling makes even me swoon. With his charm and good looks he is very dangerous to any woman near him. I would love to see more of these characters. So if there is another book please let me know!

    A MUST READ

I read this book in one day, (a couple of hours to tell you the truth) and i found that it was funny, witty, engaging, romantic, adventurous, heroic.. the charcters where all strong. this is not a story of the damsel in distress being rescured by the handsome price, the damsel here is headstrong and brave. Annalisa manage to be the captan on a ship full of men that respect her as the leader. James is the funniest and most mischievous pirate i have ever seen (well except for Jack Sparrow of course) and they manage to fall in love with each other despite each others principles and way of life. this is a great story and anyone that love hate and love relationship could relate to this one perfectlt.

    To Catch a Pirate

Annalisa Townsend and her father were on their way to start a fort in the Carribean when their ship was attacked by pirates. During the attack, Anna was cornered in the hold by a young, handsome pirate. She offers him her ring in place of her necklace--her only reminder of her mother--but he says he needs something else. He steals a kiss.

Now one year later James Sterling has been abandoned by his captain and is on the run. While trying to get on a ship he meets, once again, with the girl who has occupied his thoughts since he kissed her in the hold. Anna is not happy to see James, as he holds the key to saving her father from prison. A battle ensues, not just between pirates, but between two young hearts...who will come out the victor?

Jade Parker did a wonderful job of creating an interesting, intriguing plot. However, the book is rather short and the relationship between Anna and James seems undeveloped. I never really felt anything reading this book, and that was a little disappointing. It was a fast read, though, and would be enjoyable as rainy day reading material. Not necessarily a classic, but definitely fun to snuggle up with.

    Very Short Read

I bought To Catch a Pirate while searching the web for a good high seas adventure book to read. It's about a sixteen-year old girl who becomes a phony privateer to catch a pirate who has stolen her father's treasure.

First of all, I've read a lot of books that center around pirates and ocean adventures.
To Catch a Pirate is written, as I understand it, by an author who usually writes splashy-romance fiction for females. Fine. But this pirate book is lacking what makes a good salty sailing cruise fun to read: realism. Things move too fast, the ship doesn't seem real, and the characters have--to me at least--little emotion. Besides, a female procuring a privateering license, even a forged one, isn't very believable. A woman in that time could hardly get on a pirate ship. Any ship. Period!
The book is short. I read it all one night before bed, and it offers some adventure and romance.
But the characters are shallow and the story is not strong enough to make me believe that things are really happening. That it could be real.
An alternative I would recommend to "To Catch a Pirate" is the Bloody Jack series.

    Argh Matey!!!

This book was one of the best books I've ever read. It had a great story and was filled with many genres and conflicts. The only bad thing about the book is that it is too short.......... I finished it like in 2 days. It's a great "Just for Fun" book!!! :)

    Awesome

In my opinion I think that this book was wonderful. It was edgy, thrilling, emotional, exciting, and a page-turner. I'm not going to use any of the characters because I don't want to spoil it so I'll call themm by their gender. I loved how she wanted revenge but she ended falling in love with him. How he was using her but fell in love. How he came back for her even after he left her. And how she excepted him back. I love the terms they used and how she chose the rough and raged one instead of the stuck-up and over confident guy. The only thing that I didn't like about this story is how it has romance but not really enough. But other then that this book is amazing and is definatly among my top ten book list. :) So I hope that this incourages many people to read this book and I hope they enjoy it.

one of the worst reads ever!!!

this book was awful!!! the idea is great but the way it was carried out was awful. The characters were ok but the way the book was written made the story unbearable. the writer mixed random pirate lingo with regular english like ye, and wench. The story was really corny too, all of the romantic scenes consist of the main characters being weak in the knees and trying to hide it by being sarcastic. the whole idea of switching p.o.v. is good but this writer uses it to create no suspense cuz it becomes totally obvious about everything they do and what the main characters feel for each other. overall it made me laugh cuz it was really awful kinda like the twilight movie.

    Rainy Day Fun

The plot is...well, there isn't one really, or it's really flimsy. It's just one of those cheap, cheesy romance novels that you swore you wouldn't read, read it, and swear you wouldn't do it again. It reminds me of Pirates of the Caribbean, which is one reason why I did not like it. Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie, but the story feels like a rip-off. Even some of the lines of dialogue were taken from the movie. The only thing is, "Jack" replaces "Will." The writing style doesn't draw you in, the characters do not develop, you quickly get bore and finish for the sake of finishing. A rainy day read.

    What Not to Read

I'll admit, I didn't have very high expectations for this novel (if we can call it that) when I first opened To Catch a Pirate. Overall it looked one-dimensional, unengaging, with terrible syrupy romance. Turns out I was correct.

    the perfect little love story

i have to say, this was a really cute book. I love how independent annalisa is, and i love how James Sterling is wicked but also loving. This book includes mystery, pirating, suffering, a love triangle, and humor, all bundled up into one very entertaing story. Annalisa is determined to find the amazingly handsome pirate that kissed her and stole the king's money, placing her father in jail, and use this pirate to clear her father's name. She realizes he is quick, clever, and handsome, but she doesn't realize how hard she'll fall for him.

    To Catch a Pirate

To Catch a Pirate is now one of my favorites, This book on a scale of one to ten would deffinetly be a nine. To Catch a Pirate is set in the 1720's, Annalisa is on the ship Horizon with her father but the ship gets raded by pirates. Anna does as she's told and hides, but she couldn't stand hiding while her father might be dead. So she got out and gets caught by the charming young pirate James Sterling. He trades a kiss for her life, and the pirates take the gold on the ship. A year later Anna seaks revenge on the pirates who took her fathers gold. She goes to get it back to free her father from jail. She captures James Sterling and it's an unforgettable romance from there. I reccomend this book to anyone who likes a good, sit on the edge of your seat whats going to happen next andventure. Or to anyone who enjoys a good (wish it was yours) romance. This is a book i will read again and again.

It's the year 1720, and Annalisa Townsend and her father are on their way to the Caribbean island of Mourning to set up a governorship when they are attacked by pirates. Hiding in the hold, Anna is discovered by the young James Sterling, who, surprisingly, says nothing of her whereabouts to the rest of the pirate crew. When he goes to take her necklace, however, which is all she has left of her mother, she begs him not to and he agrees, but only in exchange for a kiss. He then disappears with the rest of the pirates, and so does the treasure that the ship was carrying.

One year later, Anna has found a ship and crew of her own, and sets out to find James Sterling, determined to get her father's treasure back. She finds James and takes him prisoner easily enough, but getting him to cooperate is another matter entirely. As she spends more and more time with him, she slowly begins to forget that he is a pirate and starts to fall for him. James seems to feel the same about her, but has he really given up his pirating ways, and can she ever really trust him?

TO CATCH A PIRATE is a fun summer read full of swashbuckling adventure and romance on the high seas. Jade Parker, who also writes as Rachel Hawthorne and Lorraine Heath, has created a fantastic world with likeable characters that are sure to win over readers.
