Gives you a feel for that time period. Since it moves along at a good clip, sometimes it leaves you wishing for more. Like the author left out a whole battle scene. But I guess if I wanted to read about battles, I’d be reading non-fiction. The plus side is the romance was always in the forefront and the characters had good chemistry. They were adversaries in a way and he refused to give her her freedom, but there was a trust there that made the whole relationship tantalizing and appealing. I enjoyed the thread that ran through this about truth and how easy it is to manipulate it. Like does the Seer really see the future, or does she make her own future by knowing how people will interpret what she says? I liked that she was clever and courageous, despite her blindness and captivity. But fate also plays a role. It was a good balance.

I liked this book, but it was short. 153 pages long. It was romantic, and had a stirring plot.

Well written story (although here and there some of the plot twists felt a little rushed) with interesting characters and intriguing plot. My biggest beef with it would be that it felt throughout like it was supposed to be a medieval story, but was actually set in the late 1700s, which was a little disorienting.

It was a good story mostly but the plot needed some serious fleshing out, I felt like I read an outline rather then a full story, otherwise I enjoyed it I suppose.
