Judge Steele was distressed, rather than furious as usual. Below his bench, where murdering catamounts customarily sat, stood a girl, about fourteen years of age. And something told Steele that this was to be the strangest and most difficult case he'd ever presided over.
Lon Williams was a progenitor of the Weird West genre with his Lee Winters stories for the Pulp magazine Real Western Stories. Deputy Marshal Lee Winters encounters all sorts of strangeness in Forlorn Gap. Another of Lon Williams' long running characters was Judge Steele, the Hanging Judge, for Action Western Magazine.
