Overview

Homicide Detective Sam Threepersons and his partner Cathleen Carter must hunt down the man who murdered Deputy Donna Scruggs as she sat in her patrol car. Standing in their way is a small community of meth cookers and dealers who resent police interference in their ways. The detectives’ hunt for a cop killer leads them down dusty backwoods trails and into hostile trailer communities full of lowlifes who think of cop killers as heroes. His hatred for cop killers fueled by the death of his own wife in the line of duty, Threepersons would never admit he hopes the hunt ends in another justified police killing of an armed fugitive. The fact District Attorney Sheena West thinks he has used his gun too many times already will not stop him from seeking justice for a slain deputy. A 16,000-word novella.

Well written. A story of honest cops working hard to provide justice for a slain deputy and their struggle against lowlife drug dealers who do not want to give up information that is needed to hunt down a cop killer.
