Overview

An authorized biographical work of Gary Revel. The book includes some details of his birth, early life, US Navy exploits, Music Business in Hollywood California-Memphis, Nashville Tennessee, his work on the 1977 HSCA-House Select Committee on Assassinations investigation of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr that eventually would lead to connections to the President John F. Kennedy and Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy assassinations. At times the book seems a bit of a mystery or detective story even though it is true.

From the Author:
I was born in Florala, Alabama. My mother and father divorced when I was 5. Music became a friend and I formed a band when I was 15. After graduation from Holmes Country High School in Bonifay, Florida I enlisted in the United States Navy. My Honorable Discharge came and Hollywood, California called, then New York, Memphis, Nashville and back to Hollywood. Along the way I investigated the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in association with the US Government's HSCA - House Select Committee on Assassinations. Danger, intrigue and murder followed as I began to unravel the truth and connections between the killing of MLK, JFK and RFK. The story of my investigation of the MLK assassination has been optioned and is the subject of a screenplay by film-maker, William Sachs. My screenplay, Red Polka Dot Dress, co-written by Frank Burmaster, has been optioned by Richard Clark Jr.-President of New Daydream Films.

Meet the Author

I was born in Florala, Alabama on June 29, 1949. My mother and dad divorced when I was 5. We moved around a lot and my mother was married and divorced a couple of more times before I graduated high school in Bonifay, Florida in 1967,

I enlisted in the US Navy and after receiving an Honorable Discharge moved to Hollywood, California.

Below is a few details and facts of my life that is touched on in the book/memoir, TO LIVE OR MAYBE NOT.

Playing poker with men in a rough and tumble southern juke-joint is not the typical activity of a 10 year old boy but it was for Gary Revel. Dancing with waitresses to Rock & Roll, Blues and Country music coming from the jukebox was also part of his usual child's-play. In High School he formed his first Rock 'N Roll band and after graduating joined the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Hollywood California beckoned and he started writing songs and making records beginning in the Capitol Records recording studios.

Danger, intrigue and murder followed as Gary entered the darkness of the investigation of the Martin Luther King Jr. assassination. His investigation of the killing took him on a journey that would bring him into Brushy Mountain Prison in Petros Tennessee to meet face to face with the convicted killer of Martin Luther King Jr., James Earl Ray. From this came his investigation in which he found that others killed MLK, not James Earl Ray.

Besides the book other things that may interest you include:

*The story of that investigation has been optioned for a movie by William Sachs. Bill has written a screenplay, MLK, and negotiations are proceeding for the making of the movie. Richard Clark Jr.-New Daydream Films has optioned the screenplay (written by Frank Burmaster and Gary Revel), Red Polka Dot Dress-based on the theme of the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. My Michael Jackson true life story project has advanced to the finish of a screenplay with co-writer JordanTate. Jordan is a French screenwriter and co-wrote Don't Stop Dancing with me. It is in the early stages development with Executive Producers in Hollywood having meetings with others in anticipation of a forthcoming deal.

*Gary owns Joungleur Music, Jongleur Music Book Publishing and Jongleur Music Pictures.

*He has also written a book of poetry, Milestones, and it too is available at all the locations as is his memoir.

*His MLK assassination investigation led him to investigate the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy as well. He further found that Oswald and Sirhan were not the real killers of them as well.
