    fine second chance at love

In 1817 Madeline Ellis needs gainful employment quickly, but her immediate problem is that dreadful Lord Ackerby who is everywhere she is. Former British Intelligence operative, Rayne Kenyon observes her and her stalker; the Earl uses his espionage skills to figure out what is going on and intercedes warning Ackerby to stay away from Madeline.

With a connection to her father and wanting her, he offers to assist her in finding a suitable position, but quickly realizes she is perfect for a job he needs filling. Rayne suggests a marriage of convenience, which Madeline rejects as she dreams of a marriage of passion and love. He rejects her counteroffer having tasted the betrayal of love once before. However, desperate and realizing he is her one; she changes her mind hoping to win his heart.

The latest Courtship Wars (see To Bed a Beauty, To Pleasure A Lady, To Romance a Charming Rogue and To Seduce a Bride) is an enjoyable entry enhanced by the return of Rayne who has a second chance at love if he accepts his feelings. Madeline proves resolute as she decides To Tame a Dangerous Lord through her heart although both must overcome distrust, dangerous innuendos and misunderstandings if they are to make it.

    Great new Courtship Wars romance

I wondered how Jordan would give the Earl of Haviland a good romance after he lost Roslyn Loring in TO BED A BEAUTY, and after reading an ARC of Dangerous Lord, I can now say I totally loved it. Passionate, entertainging, touching, and downright delightful. Now I can't wait for Tess's story!

    Who Needs Rescuing?

The Courtship Wars series continues with this account of Madeline Ellis, a 19th Century woman forced through lack of connections and money to seek a position as a companion or perhaps a governess. While being stalked by a former acquaintance, the Lord, Baron Ackerby is surprisingly confronted by a total stranger, Rayne Kenyon, Earl of Haviland. Rayne quickly picks up her clues and is able to repulse the advances of Ackerby. But the sparks flying between Rayne and Madeline make her realize she's left the frying pan only to jump into a much hotter frying pan, one that is not altogether unpleasant!

It turns out that Madeline's father had a very special connection with Rayne, one he feels duty-bound to honor by making sure Madeline reaches her destination safe and sound. It's a purely objective, reasonable decision he makes and yet he cannot deny how tempting she is.

Helping her to seek a career, Rayne realizes that he might have an answer to the bothersome question of whom he must marry to secure his own aristocratic lifestyle. But if this were to occur, it would be a marriage in name only, wouldn't it? What Rayne fails to anticipate is the efforts of two sisters, who will help to transform Madeline into even more of a stunning beauty than she already is.

Rayne can't help admire this feisty young woman who is so unlike the women he is expected to marry in his social world. Nicole Jordan creates appealing characters whose ability to arouse and respond to passion without reservations is unequaled by many other romance authors. The plot is incredible, humorous, adventurous and all together delightful! Congratulations, Ms. Jordan, on another definite best seller!

    Good First!

This was my first time to read a book by Nicole Jordan. I've been eyeing her Courtship Wars series for a while now and finally couldn't resist picking this one up. Verdict? It's pretty good stuff! My only regret thus far is that I didn't read the first book in this series first. However, please note that you don't have to read the other books to understand this book.

So, if you like a little excitement with your romance this might be the book for you. Madeline, a plain girl with spirit and sass, is in the process of making a new start in life. While traveling to her new destination there is an accident which leaves her stranded at the nearest lodge. Upon arriving she discovers that she has been followed by a Baron with wicked intentions. To avoid being captured she jumps into the room (and arms) of Rayne Keynon, Earl of Haviland. Only too happy to assist, Rayne helps Madeline escape the clutches of the Baron but also finds her employment. After a short period of time, Rayne finds that he cannot keep his hands off Madeline while she is quickly falling in love with his sensual kisses. To find out what happens next, you'll have to read the book!

    Hot, Hot, Hot!

This book is hot, steamy, witty, romantic, and intelligently written. I loved the main female character, Madeline. She is strong, smart, independent, and sensitive all at the same time. The love between Rayne and Madeline is palpable and inspiring. You will not regret this book!
