—From the Foreword byGloria Ladson-Billings, University of Wisconsin–Madison

This modern classic is a stunningly beautiful, insightful journey alongside a passionate elementary teacher who's all about teaching the curriculum in meaningful ways. Bill Ayers lives and breathes a common core of how children learn and how knowledge in one subject connects meaningfully and powerfully to other subject areas. This book has been hugely influential in teacher education in the United States for many years, and it should enjoy a richly-deserved rediscovery among the newest generation of teachers and teacher educators.
