A hilarious beginning, plenty of intrigue, and--most importantly--wonderful characters and a great plot. We get to meet some new characters (I loved Aunt Myrtle!, hated Hammil--who wouldn't?), plus we get to revisit characters from the Liars' Club series, including Kitty 'Trapp' Knight, and Ren Porter. The scenes where Willa and Nathaniel make love come toward the end of the book, but they are hot, steamy, and worth the wait! If you are new to Ms. Bradley's books, I'd recommend that you read the Liars' Club series before you read the Royal Four series, since the Royal Four continues story lines begun in the Liars' Club series.

Nathaniel knows catching this turncoat would help ease some of the sacrifice he accepted when he was named as ¿Lord Treason¿ for allegedly betraying his country. In fact Nathaniel is a double agent, Cobra and a member of the top secret Royal Four...................... In Derryton, Willa Trent has resigned herself to being a spinster when her latest suitor is injured. On the way home she shoots a rock from her slingshot, but accidentally knocks out Nathaniel. She spends the night nurturing him though she stole a quiet kiss, but as he remains consciousness her guardian John Smith declares they must marry. As she learns who her spouse is, Willa realizes not all is as it seems. She and Nathaniel fall in love, but he remains undercover as a man detested by everyone except Willa, willing to risk her life to prove her husband is loyal..................... This terrific espionage Regency romance will remind the audience of the classic tale James Fenimore Cooper¿s The Spy though that novel occurs in colonies during the American Revolutionary War and has no courageous female as a co-star. The story line is action-packed, but also insures the audience fully grasps what the hero has given up and accepted, including the disowning by his father; even his Royal Four peers recognize how much the cost is. He and the incredible Willa make this a splendid story that will have readers desiring more tales like this one........................... Harriet Klausner

Celeste Bradley appears to be unique as a writer of Regency romances. Her touches of humor mark all the books in the series and all the titles I have read by her. The way the two characters meet is both unusual and charming. She includes adventures and history while building her plot line.

My first Celeste Bradley novel, and I was not disappointed! Nathaniel Stonewell is deliciously sexy, and Willa, on more than one occassion, made me literally laugh out loud. The story is great and the - ooh la la - 'copulating' scenes are hot, hot, hot! I can't wait to read more from Celeste Bradley!

A totally great read...Celeste Bradley does it again with another well-written and totally engaging tale.. Willa & Nathaniel are the perfect foil to each other...His 'oh so serious Cobra attitude' meshes so well against her 'pie-eyed optimism'...I laughed. I cried, I totally enjoyed this book..as will you..

I read this book in a couple of hours. I loved it. All the characters made me laught out loud many times. Willa was the perfect heroine for Nate. It was also great to see the characters from the Liars club, which I also loved. Fantastic series, I can't wait to read about Ren & Ethan next.

AFTER READING THE FIRST 36 PAGES I PUT THE BOOK ASIDE AND HAD NOT PLANNED TO FINISH IT-THE STORY SO FAR HAD BEEN IMPLAUSIBLE. FRUGALITY HOWEVER WON OUT AND I AM SO GLAD IT DID! MS. BRADLEY WRITES WITH MUCH HUMOR BUT THIS BOOK WAS EVEN MORE SO. MANY MANY CHARACTERS IN THE STORY AND WHILE IT CAN BECOME CONFUSING ALL THE CHARACTERS HAVE THEIR PLACE-AND MORE. ON A SENSUAL SCALE OF 1-10 THIS IS A 9. WILLA IS AS STRONG A HEROINE AS THERE EVER WAS AND A GOOD-HEARTED FEMALE TOO. NATHANIEL IS BOUND TO ENGLAND AS NO OTHER SPY EVER WAS-PRETENDING TO BE A TRAITOR.WHO WILLA REALLY IS WILL SURPRISE MOST READERS AND IS A JOYOUS END TO A BOOK I DIDN'T WANT TO SEE END.

Overview
Lovely, high born Willa Trent was an orphan, raised by a local, somewhat odd family in the country, who want nothing but the best for their girl. So when she drags the unconscious man she accidentally hit with a slingshot home, they arrange a hasty marriage and pack the couple off with best wishes. Armed with a groggy husband and a new future, Willa's pie-eyed optimism has no limits...until she discovers the secret, dangerous world of Nathaniel Stonewell, Earl of Reardon, a.k.a. "Lord Treason."
Though Nathaniel is reviled by most of England for his devious plot against the Crown, he is, in reality, a member of an ...
