AWESOME!!!!

I love the series! I was on youtube one day and I saw someting about the Tokyo Mew Mew TV show. I finally decided to check it out, and I'm glad that I did! After a few months, I saw somebody mention the manga on the comments. I bought this book and the second one, and I liked it as much as the show! There are key differences in both series, but the overall plot is the same. Ichigo is on a date when she is merged with cat DNA allong with five other girls. In the TV show, nobody else was at the park with her, but I like it this way a lot better! I really love how Kish comes in at the end! He's hot in the show, and I was afraid that he wouldn't be in the manga, but I was totally wrong! He's as hot, and a lot more dramatic! In the show he just flys down out of nowhere and kisses Ichigo, but in the manga, he flys down, throws his cloak off, and kisses her! Somehow, that seems all the more dramatic!

    Amazing

This is a GREAT book! I love it! I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Sailor Moon. And if you don't know what Sailor Moon is, it's an incredibly awesome television series that isn't on anymore in the US. It's probably a manga book too. Oh, and if you really, really like this book, you can watch the T.V show on youtube.com People say that the japanese version is better, but i don't like reading subtitles, so i watched the english dubbed version. I don't think the english version is too bad, but you can watch whichever if you prefer. =)

    I Also Recommend:

    Totally Absorbing!!!

I loved the story, and can't wait untill I get the next! Also, I saw that some people said that they didn't understand the story. Well, incase you're one of those people, remember, this is written in the Japanese format, meaning it's right-to-left. That should help^-^ Also, these books are good for tweens or teens(ages 12 and up) If you're younger or too old for this stuff, then just don't buy it. Oh, and don't worry, it's totally clean, and has no bad parts. (These books DO have some kissing, so be warned all you cootie-haters!!) This book was a great way to start the series. Thank you Mia Ikumi!!!!!

    more from this reviewer

    I Also Recommend:

Magical girl Manga: Every girls dream.

If your a fan of Sailor Moon or any other magical girl manga for that matter, Tokyo Mew Mew is probably something you would enjoy. Like any other Magical Girl Manga its packed full of the same themes that any Shoujo reader would enjoy: (beautiful yet clumsy girls that transform into stunning heroines that protect the world! Usually involving a love interest for the main character.) Tokyo Mew Mew's spin on the Magical girl genre is the use of endangered species animals. Using the help from animal DNA they fight evil aliens that have effected earth using charming attacks. A cute read, but not the best magical girl manga out there. The artwork is pretty well done, and the characters are all very different in personality and lovable all the same, but the plot could us some work. Thats the main problem with magical girl, the plots are usually all the same and sadly, Tokyo Mew Mew does not put a twist on the genre at all. Despite that, I still enjoyed it and I'm sure other Magical Girl fans will enjoy this as well.

- F r a x e r

    Love it!

I finally got it! I love this manga. I made the mistake of reading a la mode first, but I am back on track. I think the manga is so much better than the anime!

I honestly don't know why this is so popular. The characters are dumb from the name to the personalities. The plot line is dumb and over-used plus the characters are supposed to be 11. Not 14, what they look like. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. The only people who write 5-star reviews for this are 8 year olds, seriously.

This was a pretty poorly written manga... the characters and plot were unrealistic and it was a very overused plot idea... all in all, there are much better mangas to read... but not this one.

    Kind of stupid

I used to love this manga...back when I was much younger when it was my first mangas. But I later read other ones. And well I'll say it bluntly. Tokyo Mew Mew started getting dumber and dumber. I mean it is the classic Shoujo Manga. A group of girls turn into magicc girls and fight the bad guys but they are also in love. And the charecters are unrealistic...Their is a ditz/clutz/crybaby yet everyone loves her. MAry Sue...And 3 boys love her yet she loves one. All and all it's kind of Stupid
