    Good for a free book...

My daughter lost interest in this book before the end, which rarely happens. She loves to read, especially the read to me books on my Nook but this one she doesn't like.

    Ok...

This book was a little story about a boy, Tom Thumb. This had at first made me not read it because I thought it was a warped copy of Thumbalina. He got into lots of prediciments with animals and "large" things like Thumbalina. This book took place during the time of King Arthur and Merlin so the whole "smaller than a thumb" thing fit in well (magic was popular in that time). Lastly, maybe this would not be great to read to children six and under. I noticed that there are many words little children cannot pronouce or words they don't know (and they have no idea how to use context clues). Such as how there is a short poem in the end where the author writes Sir Guy and children would not know Guy is supposed to be pronounced in the french version (you pronounce it GEE). Also they write things like besought and chivalry which kids don't know. Other than that, nice illustrations and nice plot.
