Linda Perlman Gordon and Susan Morris Shaffer are coauthors of Why Boys Don’t Talk; Why Girls Talk; and Mom, Can I Move Back In with You?, and as a result, they have spoken to parent groups and educators nationally.

    No new information. Don't waste your money.

    If you want a good book about mother-daughter relationships, you'd be much better off picking up one of Maggie Scarf's books or Deborah Tannen's works. All the authors do throughout this book is quote OTHER experts! They don't seem to have one original thought. They don't offer any practical suggestions for creating a healthy relationship with your daughter. All they do state the obvious. Luckily, Barnes & Noble has a good return policy, so I wasn't stuck with this lemon of a book.

    I loved this book!

    I read Too CLose for Comfort after hearing the authors in a radio interview. It was so fascinating that I bought copies for my sister and mother. So many of the personal stories rang true that there were times I had to call my mother to read them out loud. I know this book will help me as my daughter gets older and it certainly helped me understand my own relationship with my mother.
