Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Mary Sue Preissner
Using rebus pictures interspersed in simple text, children will enjoy the story and the humor. Included are 24 paper flash cards to cut out from the back pages of the book. They have pictures that match the text on one side and the printed word on the other. The quirky illustrations are colorful and realistic. As a teacher/media specialist, I would make a pocket on the inside cover to hold the flash cards, perhaps color-coding them to match the cover border. Part of the picture reader category from the "All Aboard Reading" series, a delightful short tale for the pre-reader.
