Great read for your toddler or kids

These books on this nook is great for toddlers because it gives you the option for it to read to them! My grandson fell in love with it yesterday i got to find him one now he said to me yesterday " Nana i got to have me one of these this is soooooo cool it talks to me!" So i guess i will be looking for him one for christmas! If anyone will trade books off with me on the lend me program i would appreciate it!

Reviewed by Kristie I. for Readers Favorite ¿Toot & Puddle:

Reviewed by Kristie I. for Readers Favorite

“Toot & Puddle: A Present for Toot” written by Holly Hobbie is shared in an audio version and is read by Nick Sullivan who does a great job with this version. Puddle wants to get Toot a birthday present, but Toot will not give him any ideas. Puddle goes to the bookstore and finds several books that he would love, but nothing for Toot. He goes to several other stores and finds several things for himself, but nothing that is right for Toot, nothing that is special enough for Toot’s birthday. Puddle meets Tulip, a parrot, and he cannot stop thinking about Tulip needing a home and Toot needing a present. However, it turns out that his plan and present are not working out as he thought.

This is a cute story to share with children and it is filled with so many different things as it teaches thinking about others instead of yourself alone and how things may not always go as planned. Toot does not like parrots, but he likes the feather that Tulip plucks and gives to him, resulting in it being an extraordinary birthday. This book can also lead to a great discussion about how children can be friends and have different likes, dislikes and interests. There are several things Puddle would love, but they are not for Toot. In fact this is a subtle point that is made throughout the book and the differences between Toot and Puddle are highlighted again and again. Children will enjoy listening to this story as there are different voices that are used for the characters making it entertaining for them to listen to.

    Adorable!

Bought this book to share with the kids in my class. Thoroughly enjoyable. My only complaint is that the words are a bit small and hard to read without having to magnify each page, which cuts off some of the pictures if I do so.

    Cute book

This is a really good book for learning the seasons. Just to let those of you know that mentioned the words were too small to read, alls you have to do is double click on the words (postcards included) and it enlarges the words so you can see them better! That or use the read to me option :)

Excellent story difficult to read on Nook

I love the Toot and Puddle series, educational, fun and lighthearted. However, it is difficult to read on my Nook color. The text is too small and in picture format such that you can't manipulate the size. It loo ok on iPad's larger screen.

Hard to see words and pics

Very cute story but cannot read the tiny words and illustations. A shame because would be a great tool for learning months and seasons

Cute - but terrible for the Nook Color

Such a cute book and I would love to have it in regular book form. But for the Nook Color it is awful. The pictures and words are tiny and hard to see/read in comparison to other Nook books. I am so disappointed!

    Not thrilled

My son and I were not at all impressed with the story. The illustrations, however, were very well done.

    So darn lovable

Toot and Puddle represent the best kind of friendship. They are happy with their individual personalities but love one another for their differences. Great example for kids. I have never seen two farm animals depicted with such human qualities. They make me laugh and I am in college!

    Excellent book for all ages!

This book focuses on the importance of individuality, even between the closest of friends. Children and adults of all ages will enjoy the emotionally expressive pictures, and fun adventures both Toot and Puddle experience. The postcards, sent by Toot, add to the pleasure of reading this delightful picture book.
