    Not too bad after all

    The recipes are not quite exact matches - missing is the added MSG for a "Wow!" factor. Meaning that while the recipes are near matches, they are not exact enough. That said, the nice thing is to replicate some of your favorite orders at popular restaurants at home, but minus about 2-3 tablespoons of salt. After eating some of the menu items at the actual restaurants, I was surprised to realize how salty they were at the restaurant. At home, I could add salt or no as I pleased. Or I could modify recipes to adapt to my food allergy requirements as needed, which means I could try many varieties without being sick the next day.
    It's been fun to try and make the restaurant versions at home. Especially when I am not anywhere geographically near some of the restaurants whose recipes are in this book.
    And one more thing - there is no real substitute for real milk cream in a "Cream of _______ Soup". So follow the instructions as exact as possible.

    This book is so much fun

    Love to cook, but also love to eat out. This book is the best of both worlds. From Carrabas Bread Dipping Oil to the Original House of Pancakes Apple Pancake. They really do taste like the real dish at these restaurants. This book covers more than 20 very familiar restaurants and their famous dishes.

    Restaurant Taste at Half the Price

    This book allows me to treat my family to restaurant dishes at home - a great savings in this depressed economy. Even my kids love to find their favorite recipes and help make it. They are more interested in cooking and food prep because they already know how it should look and taste.

    The typefae is large with plenty of white space to make it an easy read. The "how to build it" illustrations are easy to understand. The variety of recipes ensures there is something to please any palate.

    We very much enjoyed it.

    I can't wait to try more

    My husband (who loves to cook) was given this book for christmas from my dad. It has several of the things we love to go out to eat. Most of the time it's not even the main course but the extras like Red Lobster's cheddar biscits and olive garden's Pasta e fagoli soup... But I'm the one who has been having the fun and success of cooking using this book. I made the biscits last night and they were really good. I can't wait to try the soup... got the ingrediants now just need to follow he directions!

    ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!

    This book will not disappoint! The Pasta Rustica and Potato Cakes with Ranch Salsa are unbelievably delicious! The recipes are easy to follow and offer step-by-step directions/diagrams. My entire family adores all of Todd Wilbur's books!

    Not worth the $

    Recipes full of fat, calories, carbohydrates, and not something you'd want to produce in your home. If one were to indulge in such food, one would be better off visiting the restaurant on a rare basis. Nothing here to serve your family, children, or friends with good conscience. If you're going to spend the time cooking, cook something healthful and delicious. This is a waste of time.
