If you can't take the heat... stay away from the flame.
Katie Parks has been on her own since the age of fifteen. All she's ever wanted is a place to call her own-a life that is wholly hers that no one can take away. She thought she finally had it, but with the strike of a single match, everything she worked so hard for is reduced to a pile of smoking ash. And she almost is too.
Now she's being stalked by someone who's decided it's her time to die. The only thing standing in the path of her blazing death is sexy firefighter Holt Arkain.
Katie's body might be safe with Holt... but her heart is another story.
As the danger heats up, sparks fly and the only thing Katie knows for sure is that her whole life is about to go up in flames.

My Review 4.8 Star Review – Torch (Take It Off #1) I recommend this book. I enjoyed this book by Cambria. This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, pain, fire, and betrayal. Cambria takes you on a suspense filled journey through Katie's hell. If we have to pick out the way we die I am sure no one would pick burning to death. You feel heat of the fire and Katie's emotions jumping off the pages. But what happens when fire is just the beginning. Throw in a stalker that will do anything to kill Katie. Her Sexy firefighter Holt will have none of it. He will try to protect Katie and make sure she does not get hurt. Love the back and forth between Katie and Holt. Holt is an alpha with a soft side. Love how he is protective of his truck. Funny as that is totally believable. Some of my favorite quotes "But if you try to kill me in my sleep, I will come back as a ghost and make your life a living hell." I climbed into the trunk and turned to face him. "Good girl," he said. Before he could slam the door, I caught it with my foot and glared at him. "Good girl?" I mocked. "Do I look like a dog to you?" He smirked. "No, Freckles, you definitely do not." I crossed my arms across my chest and glared at him. He sighed. "Give a guy a break. I'm tired." He grinned. "Inside every man there is a mad dog just waiting to get out."

I liked Katie & Holt's story. This is the 3rd book I read by Cambria Hebert (all Take it off Novels). Some of the actions were unbelieveable, but a lot of the story seem realistic. The suspense started from page 1, so I was on the edge of my seat all the way through. 190 pages

Well, what can I say? First off, if I was EVER trapped in a building I pray that the man who rescues me, looks like Holt. Please don’t tell my husband that though J I loved this book! I was so excited when it came out, I one clicked instantly (can you say that when you have a Nook or is that against the rules?). It has everything in it for me. Romance and suspense! The book starts out with Katie, a librarian,  who manages to find herself tied up in a chair and her whole house, her whole life, is on fire.  In comes Holt, the hot firefighter, to save her! Granted his saving technique almost made her drown, but hey, with a guy like that who’s to complain! After the incident, Katie stays at Holt’s house because, he is generous, and she has nowhere else to go. This is where it gets good (insert eye brow wiggle here).  Holt, being the person that he is, wants to protect Katie from whoever is out to get her, but it gets very difficult when someone is intent on killing her, but she lives a perfectly normal life, why would anyone want to kill her? Torch is on fire.  The suspense alone will leave you constantly trying to guess who is trying to kill her and why are they bound and determined to do it. While my guesses got better as the story progressed, I still was a bit off until the very end.  Then there is the romance. It’s great, I mean, who doesn't like them, and they were done perfectly! They are steamy, so make sure you have a cup of water near you so that you can cool yourself off!  If you haven’t read this book yet, do yourself a favor and go, now, and get it!!!!

I really want to take a moment to commend Cambria Hebert for her transition into NA Contemporary Romance. It couldn't have been easy but she did a stellar job, and she deserves to be praised for creating fantastic characters and plotlines filled to the brim with emotion, tension and suspense. This book started off with a bang and the action continued all the way to the end. I can't think of a worse way to die than to be burned alive, and Hebert brought me right into the drama, drawing me in with her fantastic descriptions and the heart-stopping moment when Katie was on the brink of being consumed by the flames. Thank goodness the gorgeous, Holt was there to save the day. I have to say though, I did become a little suspicious of him. He just kept popping up at the right moments and I thought, if he isn't behind the attacks on Katie, then he has some serious stalker issues. I am happy to report that I was wrong on both counts. Katie and Holt were hot together. They steamed up my Kindle screen on more than one occasion and their chemistry was palpable. That shower scene, yep, that was one sexy as hell shower scene and it made me want to go find my own gorgeous Holt Arkain just to re-enact it! LOL!! Out of all the sexy times they shared, that one just did it for me :) But this story wasn't all love and lust, it was a fantastic mystery thriller. With someone out to get Katie, she was always looking over her shoulder and as the pieces fell into place, so the tension grew. This book was exciting, fresh and I'd recommend it to anyone who loves a sexy, romantic, suspense-filled thrill ride. That is if they can handle the heat ;)

Cambria turned up the heat! Ever had one of those days that went from bad to worse, then drag on for days? That is exactly what happened with Katie. Waking up immobile due to being tied to a chair! To top it off the one who tied her up set her home ablaze! Someone wants her dead and she has no clue why. But every story must have its handsome hero that comes to the rescue, cue Fire chief stud Holt. The heat doesn't only come from the homicidal maniac that is after Katie, the bedroom temperature spikes with these two beneath the sheets. I found Torch very suspenseful, left wondering when the unknown person would appear to try and attack Katie or Holt. As well as when I would know, why he was trying to kill her..or who he was. But...does he act alone? Pick up this amazing book and dive into the rollercoaster of events that unfold!

Oh my god! I loved this book! I was glued to the edge of my seat reading this book. I could not figure out who was trying to kill Freckles off. I love how Holt stood by her throughout the entire ordeal she went through. Some place were so steamy, I thought my book was going to go up in flames. Torched had it all: romance, action, funny quips, and such a well developed story. This is the first I have read from this author and I plan to pick up the second in the series. It flowed so well, so be prepared to read it all in one session. I could not give this book enough stars! Pick up a copy you will not be disappointed, I wasn’t. *I was given an ARC for review*

I'm warning you now, this book disappointed me. First of all, Torch started off excellently. It was chillingly suspenseful. The main character, Katie, is tied up in a chair, watching the fire that someone set grow around her. She can't do anything except lie there and let it take her life. Enter Holt Arkain. A young, sexy firefighter. He saves her life, and he just can't seem to stay away from her after he pulls her out of the fire. One might be suspicious, eh? Someone tries to kill you, and then here's this guy who wants to take you back to his house so he can take care of you because you're all alone. Right. I'm sorry, but if I'd just been bound and almost burned to death, I wouldn't be trusting anyone, even the firefighter who saved my life. And I certainly wouldn't go home with him when I DON'T KNOW HIM AT ALL. But he's hot, so he must be a good guy, right? I swear, Katie has zero sense of survival. Since she doesn't know who would be trying to kill her, it could just be a pyro's hero complex, setting fires and then saving people. Hey, it happens! I'm not saying Holt's the bad guy. I'm just saying, Katie is stupid. Seriously, she is. Okay, that's not really fair of me because she did make some courageous moves; literally at the very end when her life was, yet again, on the line. But she was just so naive about everything, from almost being murdered to having sex with Holt. She's supposed to be twenty-two years old, but in all honesty, she acted like a schoolgirl, especially when she was around Holt. He was always saving her, and I don't mean just literally. Katie was dependent on Holt, and it made her character seem weak. She was also very insecure about herself and her looks (all women are, I know), but with her, it was just off-putting because I couldn't feel sorry for her. It's because I know absolutely nothing about both characters until the very end! There were hardly any questions about their pasts, and they weren't brought up until we find out why she was being targeted. I hate that in books; I hate it when information is just dumped on me like that in a few conversations. Because, by this time, I should know the characters. I also wasn't too convinced on Holt's and Katie's relationship. Yes, the sexual tension between them was scorching hot. But honestly, it didn't seem like love. It just seemed like heavy lust. Katie lost the ability to rely on herself, and she was okay with Holt taking care of her even though she's been on her own a long time. And Holt had this hero complex: save the damsel in distress and keep protecting her. Forever for them just doesn't seem believable to me. But with all the book's faults, it was still really good. I enjoyed the mystery, and the suspenseful story-line was played to a T. *I received an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review
