    A Classic !

A rare and powerful combination of insight and inspiration is woven into this work. RT Kendall invites the reader to journey with him and explore the vital need for all to practice forgiveness and to bask in it's liberating power. This is not a dry academic pursuit, but rather the chapters speak to you and assists you in seeing the theme of forgiveness from different angles and in a brand new light. You will find encouragement and cleansing that will give rise to a new appreciation to esteem and embrace the simple life giving graces of forgiveness. This is a powerful book!

You need to read this if you've ever been hurt!

This book is so great. It really allows you to look at your life and realize that forgiveness is so much more than you thought it was. You think you've forgiven until you read this book and see the specific instructions that God has on this tough subject.

'Forgiveness as God would teach us to forgive...'

Forgiveness today is often defined in shallow terms and trite metaphors. It is not always forgiveness as God sees it. Kendall teaches us true forgiveness-forgiveness as God forgives. The author's insight is profound, and his foundation is the Word of God. We would expect nothing less from the writer of one of the finest Joseph commentaries ever written, and that story is THE story of forgiveness. (Only 'With Joseph in the University of Adversity' is possibly better, IF you can find it.) The key to Kendall's (and God's) forgiveness is forgiving not only the action against an offended party, but also the offender himself--sometimes, as in Joseph's case, no easy task. I recommend this book without reservation, and also Kendall's work on Joseph.

Serious study for the sincere Christian!

Wow! This is a wonderful and spiritual book about the importance of forgiving others, and how such forgiveness actually affects US as much as the one forgiven. Dr. Kendall is the expert on the story of Joseph, and there is no finer example of forgiveness than this story. He covers so many ramifications of forgiving that I never even considered. This is not a book to sit down and just casually browse. It needs to be studied prayerfully, and applied to your life. It is Bible-based, conservative in theology, and gives you solid 'meat' without the psycholoi-babble many books of this type present! I would strongly suggest the author's other book 'God Meant it for Good', one of the two or three finest books on Joseph's life ever written along with 'With Joseph in the University of Adversity' and one by Gene Getz. Serious study for the sincere Christian!
