USA Today bestselling author Mira Lyn Kelly cranks up the heat for two lifelong friends whose most secret longings come true in every delectable way.
Vivacious and successful, Ava Meyers is living her dream life, except for one thing: Ever since childhood, she’s been in love with her best friend . . . and she’s never admitted it. Back then, Sam Farrow was a damaged young man with a tough past. Now he’s supremely confident, super-sexy, and totally untouchable—until the night when Sam pretends to be Ava’s boyfriend to save her from some unwanted attention. In a moment of weakness, Ava finds out that a decades-long friendship is no match for blistering sexual chemistry.
After years of denying his own feelings, Sam finds that one amazing night with Ava isn’t enough to chase away all the pent-up fantasies. So he proposes they spend a few weeks driving each other wild, exhausting their every desire, and then return to their perfect platonic relationship like nothing ever happened. But Sam’s plan has one fatal flaw: the part where they give each other up. Because the more they let go of their inhibitions, the more they’re tempted to never go back.

When Ava needs a date to her company party to discourage some unwanted attention, she begs her life-long best friend and secret crush, Sam, to help her out. But when their pretend relationship leads to a scorching kiss both friends are left hungry for more. Though Ava has always been in love with Sam, she has kept their relationship platonic not wanting to risk their friendship and the comfort and support that Sam has found as a part of her family. She keeps her feelings for him a secret, even when they embark on a physical affair, knowing that their group of friends and their bond are incredibly important to Sam. Try as she might, Ava can't keep her feelings for Sam completely under wraps. The more time they spend together, in and out of bed, the harder they start to fall for each other. But Sam is not the forever type and, as much as he always dreamed of marrying Ava as a child and becoming a part of her family, he's terrified of taking their friendship to the next step and doing something to hurt Ava and destroy their friendship. He's wanted her for as long as he can remember but kept true to the promise he made to her brother and father.  When emotional lines start to get blurred and they end their affair Ava goes on an extended business trip, taking the opportunity to put some distance between herself and the man who she can't help but love. Distance, longing and the discovery that Ava has always been in love with him force Sam to come to terms with his own feelings for her.  I've always been a big fan of Friends-to-Lovers romances and this was a great example. I loved those little flashbacks to Ava and Sam as children. They really helped you understand why Ava kept her love a secret and how much of a role her family played in Sam's growing up. She spends years accepting what she can get from Sam and having to watch him go off into dark corners with strange women because endures it because she knows how important their friendship is to him.  Sam was a little annoying at times because of his complete inability to realize Ava was interested in him. In his defense, she had been lying to him since they met as children, but c'mon! She asked you to take her virginity and she's always cuddling with you and touching you. I think she might like you, dude.  The sex scenes, though! Wow! I love how the intimacy and the intensity grew each time they were together. Plus, Sam's dirty mouth was icing on the cake, The scenes were definitely creative, fun and sexy as hell. I don't think I'll ever look at a tool belt the same way.  This was my first read from Mira Lyn Kelly but I would definitely read more. She has a great way of really making you feel for the characters. Sometimes, when Sam was being particularly dense or when we saw the way Ava's parent's took him in, I felt a tiny, throbbing ache in my heart. No, I don't like it when my heart hurts, but I love it when a novel makes me genuinely feel things. When I get so caught up in a character's life I feel those pains and joys that they would be feeling. I really enjoyed Touch & Go and  I can't wait to see what happens to Ford. Who will his lucky lady be? Disclaimer: I received this book free in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

Ava and Sam had been best friends forever. Ava has always loved him, but she knew Sam had only ever thought of her as a friend. He'd made a promise to Ava's brother, Ford, to always protect "their" sister. She's always been okay with that, but she can't seem to stop comparing every date she's ever had to Sam…and none of them even come close. Then everything seems to go haywire and Sam thinks they can become friends with benefits. Just for a short time until they get each other out of their systems. Then they can go back to being friends. Right?! Ooh yeah…Touch & Go is right up my alley and I couldn't get enough of Ms. Kelly's take on the friends-to-lovers story! It's adorably comical and tickle-my-tummy-romantic. Toss in bouts of smoking hot sex and my book was darn near igniting (or was that me?)! Ms. Kelly is my Go-To Author when I want a book to light me up from brain to body. Her writing keeps me glued to the pages with a constant smile on my face and a warm giggle in my heart. The characters will have you on a slow burn and melt you from the inside out and to me, that's the ultimate in writing finesse. I always like a friends-to-lovers story, but this one was FANTASTIC! I won't miss a single book in this series and I hope you won't either! 5 Stars!

One of my favorite friends-to-lovers stories!  I loved that Sam and Ava have known each other since they were kids - and that they never acted on their feelings in order to protect the other. They are great as friends, but even better as lovers. This story is hot, hot, hot! Highly recommended - I want Ford's story now! ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

While I felt this a bit slow at times I enjoyed the love story of Ava and Sam very much... It was well written with good characters and a story line that was believable... A boy from the wrong side of the tracks who was taken in by Ava's family... His mother had abandoned him to an alcoholic abusive father; then Ava's family had both died in an auto accident... Sam built walls around himself because people he loved left him, alone and shaken... So he never realized the love he and Ava felt for each other... Years later their platonic relationship slipped for what was supposed to be one night and then the joy and sorrow of finding their HEA takes over... Well worth the read.. Only book in what I believe is a series that I have read...

There were lines friends didn't cross. Lines that started above the knee and ended below the belly button. Panty lines. Bust lines. And most importantly, lip lines. Ava and Sam have known each other since they were little kids and there had always been feelings involved but neither acted on them. Now they are both grown up and still haven't acted upon those feelings. That is until a guy has his eye on Ava and she dislikes this very much. She asks Sam to be her date and at first, he says no but later on agrees to go with her. They need to make believable that they are dating and for that to happen, they obviously need to kiss and show affection. They instantly click and their sexual needs are not far behind. "What do you say, Ave," he asked, searching her eyes. "Feel like making a really bad decision with me?" I loved this story a whole lot more than the first book in this series. Ever since I read Truth or Dare, I was in love with Ava and Sam. I adored those two and I needed their story ASAP. I finally read it and I loved it. I am giving this story 3.5 stars because while I loved the story quite a lot, I was expecting just a bit more...excitement. It was slow at first but once these two characters get together, it's an explosion of passion. The characters are so easy to love, their story is amazing. I mean, who doesn't love the best-friends-to-lovers relationship, right? The reader can't help but fall in love with Ava and Sam. Since they have known each other for so long, they know the right buttons to push, which makes the story fun and interesting. Near the end, I got very frustrated because I felt like Sam wasn't being understanding towards Ava and the things he said got me emotional and made me want to slap him but at the same time, he had a point because he was clueless to all of what was happening. STILL, the story is great. I highly recommend it because it is fun and short and HOT!

A friends to lovers story with a clueless (almost) hero who almost waits until it’s too late before he actually takes a close look at his feelings.  Ava and Sam have been friends for years: although Ava has been in love with Sam for most of that time.  And, like most of the stories that use this trope there is an initial set up, a game, wedding, or roommate situation to start the story.  Ava cajoles Sam into being a date  - mostly to fend off some ardent admirers: and when a kiss that is times to make a statement  becomes so much more, the story is off and running.  These two have all of the chemistry that one would expect in a romance: and the interplay carries the familiarity of being friends for a long time.  But they both have their own issues: Ava doesn’t always make the best  choices, a bit too quick to protect her heart but she is sassy, solid and loyal to Sam. For his part, Sam has managed to hide away the worst of his past traumas: he’s dedicated to the friendship he has with Ava, but he has little to no awareness of the depth of his feelings.   But when he finally realizes that he can’t, well doesn’t want to live without Ava, his dedication that never wavered, from when they were children is wholly palpable to readers. From a very broken childhood, to a solidly giving and loving man, Sam has come full circle.  His finding joy in everything that he didn’t think he wanted and now can’t live without with the one woman he never believed he deserved is a wonderful conclusion.  Heartfelt confessions, laughingly inappropriate pet names, humor, heart, heat and a journey as their relationship redefines itself: this is  a wonderful story.  I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review:  all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Thanks to Random/Loveswept Publisher and Netgalley for the book in exchange for an honest review. Ave & Sam have been best friends forever, they are comfortable with each other, have been thru so many things together, they practically live in each others pockets. But they never crossed that platonic line into lovers until one night Ave needed a pretend boyfriend for a work event. It started a explosive reaction that led them to a path of no return. They were so comfortable together that becoming lovers was just a natural extention to their friendship. This is book two of the series Dare To Love by Mira Lynn Kelly. I love the friends-to-lovers trope and Ave and Sam had a deep, lasting friendship so it was wonderful to see them progress to lovers. However, there was something stopping them from going for the happily - ever after. I wanted to shake them when they refused to see their potential future. The author did a fantastic job of detailing how close a platonic friendship is between a man and woman. Being married to my best friend, I saw so many similarities. I loved it. There were times a few things was unclear to me. The flashback parts was confusing. It didn't feel as smooth a transition. And the story was starting to get drawn out. Half way through I felt like rolling my eyes at the reasons why they had no future together.I kept wanting to shout at Sam for not seeing how wonderful they are together. I didn't understand why he believed he didn't love her that way. He already knew he couldn't live without her. Ok, the resolution is wonderful. My heart is filled with melted butter. I loved it. I will forgive Sam's wishy washy reasoning. And if the author wanted me to be annoyed with Sam for being blind to their relationship, then good job! I am off to read the first book of the series Truth or Dare.

Upon finishing, my initial reaction: I might have loved this one more than the first book in the series...and I LOVED the first book. <3 My Thoughts: After reading the first book in the Dare To Love series by Mira Lyn Kelly, I absolutely, without a doubt, had to read the next book. I knew it would be good, but I worried a teeny bit that it might not be as good as Truth or Dare. Oh boy was I WRONG. It was just as good, if not MORE. Ava and Sam are best friends, only she's loved Sam forever. Of course, she'll never tell him and ruin their friendship. Then it just so happens Sam is the one that helps her out by pretending to be her boyfriend to keep a stalker-like guy from bugging her anymore. He decides to make it very clear to the stalker that she's he kisses her. Once... twice... three times... And it works, a little too good because they just went well past what their friendship was, and the temptation is too strong to turn back. Is it possible for Ava and Sam to keep things casual and go back to the way things were? Touch & Go for all seriousness pulled me in and didn't let go. I couldn't get enough of Ava and Sam, and I fell more and more in love with them individually AND together. And those kisses... THOSE KISSES... Talk about melt you completely fantastic. If you love a good best friends to lovers story, this is absolutely the one you need to pick up. Also, pick up Truth or Dare, the first book. You won't regret reading them! My Rating: Exceptional

Mira Lyn Kelly is a new-to-me Author and I can't wait to dive into her back list and read more!  Touch & Go is the second book in a series (Truth or Dare is book one), however, I was able to read this as a stand alone book with no problems.  I think if I would have read Truth or Dare first I would have had more background on all the characters (and the beginning wouldn't have been so fast paced), but I still was able to jump in and enjoy Sam and Ava's story easily. Touch & Go was a story that is right up my alley, we all know how much I love a friends to lovers story!  However, Mira Lyn Kelly didn't give us the straight forward friends to lover story that we are used to.  Sam and Ava have been best friends, inseparable really, for over 20 years (they met at 7 & 10 years old) and while each of them may have had lustful thoughts for one another, they never acted on it, until a kiss, that was pretend, set off fireworks.  Sam and Ava's friendship was very comfortable, they were imbedded in each other's lives and knew that no matter what they had each other; as best friends.  Now what do they do when this kiss opened up a Pandora's box of long buried fantasies?  You get a HOT and pretty amazing story! Mira Lyn Kelly created very interesting characters in this series and I loved that they weren't perfect, just slightly damaged from their pasts.  Ava was complex, she seemed to know exactly what she wanted and was willing to just be friends with benefits with Sam even though her heart craved more.  She was smart, sassy and knew when it was time to protect her heart.  I liked her character up until the last few choices she made (she got a bit dramatic) but overall I enjoyed that she wasn't the doormat just waiting for her happy ever after.  Sam.  God love Sam!  What a hot, tool-belt wearing fantasy come true!  I loved Sam and his creative ways.  Sam is the perfect best friend, the best lover, but he doesn't do relationships.  He has a pretty sad back story that gets unveiled throughout the book that really plays into the man he has become (understandably).  I loved reading Sam's journey as we watched him get everything thing he didn't think he wanted with the one girl he didn't think he could ever have.  Sigh.   Touch & Go is a quick, hot and clever book that any romance junkie will enjoy! If you love the friend to lovers trope as I do, you will not be disappointed in Sam and Ava!  Fans of Mira Lyn Kelly, I'm sure, will love this next installment in the Dare to Love series, as you do get to see more from Maggie and Tyler (from Truth or Dare).  I can't wait to read more from this Author and I am glad she has lots of choices on her back list!  Touch & Go is a great book to spend a cold night with, it will definitely heat things up!

Another first in my list of reading new authors and their books, “Touch And Go” by Mira Lyn Kelly is a Dare To Love novel of two best friends crossing the line of friendship into lovers and finally accepting their relationship to make a future together. Successful and beautiful Ava Meyers had always harbored a secret crush on her childhood friend Sam, that only deepened into love as they grew, become adults and living successful lives. Sam had been harboring the same feeling for Ava, but the fear of losing their friendship curtails him from acting on those feelings. But a one-time play with Sam acting as her boyfriend changes the game plan and they fall into a passionate affair to exorcise their feelings for each other and move on with their lives. As they burn the sheets with their fantasies, the lust between them sizzles into a love that each is afraid to confess. Sam has some hang-ups he needs to overcome, and Ava being the vivacious Ava, confesses her feelings first, sending Sam running in the other direction and feeling deprived of a friendship he values more, not realizing that he actually is in love with Ava. Mira does a fine job bringing out the feelings and insecurities of Ava and Sam in “Touch And Go.” With good narration and good writing prowess, Mira weaves a sensual story of friendship, love and support that keeps us captivated.  A definite good read! When will you be ready to cross THAT line between friendship and love? Will the risk outweigh the benefits? Are you willing to sacrifice years of friendship, comfortability, and camaraderie, all for the sake of love? Sam & Ava have been the best of friends since they were young, they knew each other's quirks and secrets -- or so he thought. Because what he didn't know - and what she didn't want him to find out is that she had been in love with him since she was seven. All it took was one mixer - she was desperate to have a date on to shove off unwanted admirers, a couple of drinks, some teasing, and kissing - and they found themselves crossing that line. They found themselves crossing that line. But can she separate her feelings for all those life-long fantasies he was willing to fulfill for her? When all of this ends, can she turn around with her heart intact? It's an old plot I'll never get tired off. Who better to fall in love with other than your best friend? For these two: it's a little bit hard work considering that he's a little bit stubborn. As for her: I think keeping her feelings a secret not just to save their friendship, but every important relationship he has with their common friends was a selfless thing to do and I think one of the hardest as well; to keep that feeling intact with no one to share it to - man, that's tough! I hated that she has no one to turn to about her emotions on Sam.  It's sweet, sexy, steamy & heartbreaking. I had a grand time reading it. Watching him fall in love with her without even him realizing it. Sometimes the best thing we want the most is standing right before your very eyes. There are times you need to loose it before you realize it's worth.

When I first started reading this, I did not realize it was the second book in the Dare to Love series. You were introduced to Sam in Ava in the first book, Truth or Dare. Sam and Ava have been best friends for years. They live in the same apartment complex and they share everything. Think the type of friends who can just walk into your house without being invited and make themselves comfortable on your couch. Ava has loved Sam for years, but has kept her feelings to herself because he does not feel the same. Often times after Sam goes out to "hook-up", he ends up showing up to Ava's apartment and cuddldes on the couch with her while watching t.v. And everytime, Ava's heart breaks a little bit more. To get an annoying coworker off her back, Sam pretends to be Ava's boyfriend. However things change when they decide to kiss. They decide to be "friends with benefits". Because what is the harm in that, right? Not always the best choice as the lines between friendship and lovers become blurred at least for Ava. She realizes she wants more but not Sam. He was actually ok with the way things were between them until he found out Ava was in love with him. But what does she do, instead of dealing with their feelings head on, Ava runs away. Ava had been portrayed as a strong professional woman so I thought running away was a little immature. While this one book was good, I did not feel it was as good as the first one. The first one had a little bit more humor and snarkiness which seemed to missing. It did not feel like their relationship really was developed that well between the time they went from friends to lovers. Overall, solid story, good fun read and enjoyable and would recommend. Hope story with Ford is next?

This heartwarming and sexy friends to lovers romance is the story of Ava and Sam. They've been best friends for more than 20 years, shared everything with each other, with one exception - Ava's true feelings for Sam. In a moment of weakness, they succumb to a sexual attraction denied for too long. But will it cost them their friendship or lead to something even better? I had high expectations for this story based on how much I enjoyed Truth or Dare, the first of this series. I'm happy to report that this story delivered just as good if not better than the first. Ava and Sam were both wonderfully engaging characters, bright, funny with a tried and true friendship that requires Ava to file away Sam's playboy ways into a locked vault, along with her love for him. The sexual chemistry between them, when allowed to be put into play by Sam pretending to be Ava's boyfriend to throw off an amorous would-be suitor is off the charts. This long denied attraction morphs into hot and heavy love scenes that are filled with emotion, ones that are stronger on Ava's side than Sam's. Yet Sam still knows that what he is experiencing with Ava goes beyond a quick roll in the hay, no matter how much he wants to deny it. The secondary characters, friends and family of Sam and Ava add delightful humorous scenes and witty dialogue as the story evolves and Ava realizes that what she's getting from Sam now isn't going to last, and that she deserves more. The eventual conflict and resolution of the story had me alternating between tears and smiles as they finally get their happy ending. It was one of those books that is impossible to put down once you start, and delivers a sexy, fun, emotional and entertaining romance. 5 stars!

5 "Just Keeps Getting Better" Stars This is the second book in Kelly's Dare to Love Series. Ava and Sam have been friends for years and Ava has been harboring a secret that no one knows. She has been in love with her best friend the entire time. But their friendship runs deep and is not only between them but also with Ava's brother Ford and their friends Tyler, Maggie, and I'll even include Tony. Ava can't risk messing it all up by letting everyone know how she feels so she has kept it to herself, even when Sam was parading around with yet another one night stand. Sam can't do commitment. Anyone he has let in, anyone he has trusted, has left him. From his mom to his first high school girlfriend, and even including Ava's mom who loved him like one of her own. At least Ava has been a constant for him. He would do anything for their friendship including helping her when she needs to get someone off her back, after all, he can totally make the guy thinks he loves her and it's only for one night. As you can imagine, lines are crossed and if their friendship was amazing, their chemistry was unbelievable. Neither or them wanted just one night and Ava convinces herself she can do this. She gets to live out her fantasy for now and she will do it without ruining their friendship when the sex is over. Still when things get too comfortable between the two and even more lines get crossed Ava realizes she is not going to ever be able to get what she wants out of life if she is always around Sam. Tough decisions are made, one feels betrayed, one is devastated. Can there be a HEA? OMG...this book was fabulous. I am always a sucker for friends to lovers romances, but I cannot tell you the depth of emotions I felt while reading this book. Kelly writes in such a way that you are immersed in the story. You feel like you are living among this funny yet caring group of friends. I loved the little flashback descriptions to Sam and Ava as kids. It just added to the depth of their relationship. Sam was marvelous. He really couldn't help the way he felt and honestly he just had too much of a good thing in his friendship with Ava. It's not like he took advantage of that relationship, he just didn't realize the depth it entailed. Now don't get me wrong, I was so hurt for Ava by the way he acted at one point, but he in fairness, just really never saw it coming. As my percent complete kept ticking along as I read I truly was wondering if this was gonna be a story where sometimes things really just don't work out. I'm glad Sam had a come to Jesus moment when he saw Ford and Maggie in Ava's apartment. He winds up coming through in a really sweet way and I totally loved the Epilogue. Seriously, I cannot wait to read the next book which I'm assuming is about Ford. Just dying to find out what he has been up to plus I cannot wait to get more on some of my favorite couples. Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I just want to say "Touch and Go, (Dare to Love), is a really good, well written book. The character and location developments are phenomenal. The story is about best friends. Sam and Ava have been friends since they were children. Ava grew up knowing she was loved by her parents and her big brother, Ford. Sam grew up in a broken home on the other side of the bridge. His father was a mean, abusive drunk, and his mother left because she was being abused. Unfortunately, she left Sam with his father, telling him (Sam), she would be back, but she never did. Sam became friends with Ava and Ford, and would come and stay at the Meyers house to get away from his father, at one point the Meyers' gave Sam a bedroom in their home. He became one of the family. As Ava grew up Sam became her best friend, and she secretly fell in love with him. This is a story of their falling in love. You will laugh and cry (well, I did) for them as you read their story. Mira, I loved your book. Thanks for reading my review.

ARC courtesy of NetGalley for an honest review. It's an overall good book. They met as kids..became best friends....she fell in love....they kept their friendship strictly platonic until "the kiss" I loved Ava and Sam's story. Sam was so funny and just always a great guy best friend should be. At times Ava was working my nerves. She wanted to step into this thing because she she SURE she could play the game but not giving up all the information she just took on the annoying quality to her at times. Outside of that I loved her. Sam's background broke my heart but it helped us to understand him. He is just a man's man...with a tool belt (fan's self). There was some parts that I did skimmed over because I felt it was just repetitive (you know like the movie that should of ended an hour ago but it now going into hour 3). The skimmed portion was very small, though I did get the important part of it. The end and epilogue be bawling like a baby...I'm a sucka for a happy ending (hence why I love romance novels). It was just perfect.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is my second book by Mira Lyn Kelly and second in her Dare to Love series. It's about time that Sam and Ava got it together! They obviously didn't realize it, but they were perfect together. And just like Tyler and Maddie, they nearly burnt down the apartment complex with their heat. It was a bit frustrating that either of them even considered that sleeping together wouldn't change their relationship at all. Come on man! All in all, highly recommended and can't wait until Ford's book. I kind of hope that Tony gets a book too (even though he is horribly crude and disgusting), everyone deserves a chance at a HEA.
