Touch (Denazen Series #1)

Amazing!!!

What a brilliant start to this wonderful new series by Jus Accardo. Touch is the first book in the Denazin series and had me glued to the pages from the first to the very last.

The story begins with a slightly intoxicated Deznee Cross on her way home from a party and finding a bare-foot and bleeding, gorgeous boy with piercing blue eyes tumbling down an embankment with absolute fear showing on his face and running from men dressed in unusual body suits.

Dez takes Kale to her home and soon discovers he isn't like any other boys she knows, he is intrigued by items such as DVD's and vases and wears shoes he originally took from her in the shower but she sees him as a way to infuriate her uncaring father, something she has a knack for doing. But her plan doesn't go as it should when her father arrives home wielding a tranquilizer gun and knowing a lot more about Kale than he really should, she soon starts believing the story Kale has told her about her fathers 'law firm' and they end up on the run.

Kale is known as a six, able to wield a 'special' power and has been used by Denazen Corporation as their personal weapon to eliminate those they consider a threat, his ability enables him to kill anything alive be it human, plant or animal with a touch of his skin. When he grabbed Dez as a threat to her father and to protect himself, his power didn't work on her; the first person to ever evade his death touch.

We are taken on an action packed journey, meeting others with special and unique abilities to find someone known as the Reaper, someone with the knowledge to help them get into the corporation to rescue a person of great importance to both Dez and Kale (A pretty big spoiler so I won't reveal who this person is). The hurdles they had to face whilst on the run was ongoing and never let up, the bad guys always seemed to be one step ahead but I was pleased by the final resolution.

I loved the main characters! They were well-though out and developed perfectly; Dez seemed fearless, I loved her feisty, tough, sarcastic attitude, she was loyal and determined. I was intrigued by Kale and his upbringing at Denazen; he yearned for a life outside of the corporation, a place he has been since he was a child, there was innocence and mystery about him but his reactions to trouble and his fiercely protective streak when it came to Dez showed what he was truly capable of. I loved Dez and Kale together and the many 'firsts' that happened between them.

Dez had a secret of her own which I am curious to learn more about in the next installment, especially the new ability she has gained - I think she is going to be a power to be reckoned with.

Each of the secondary characters were likeable and each played an important role in Touch, I was intrigued by Alex and the other sixes and I'm keen to learn more about them.

The descriptive story-telling, suspense, non-stop action and intriguing plot kept me riveted. Ms Accardo's writing style is entertaining and detailed which kept me engrossed. Touch brings a unique spin to the young adult genre; you are immediately pulled in to the world she has created. The romance was pretty light as well; it was there but not too intense.

Touch is a must read for any fans of the YA genre. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to read the sequel.

"TOUCH" (GMTA REVIEW)

"TOUCH" BY JUS ACCARDO

Amazing! This book, start to finish was one of the finest pieces of young adult genre literature that I have had the honor of reading in quite some time. To be quite honest I have been constantly disappointed in some of the more popular writers abilities at conveying the truth of teenage emotion. A lot of times the realities of how they would act in certain situations, the moods that are so viable at this time in their lives were never really shown as if the author had a disconnection with the characters and couldn't describe them properly. More importantly this book had me saying "pfft, X-Men who?" The "Sixes" are an obscure group of mutant teenagers that are being captured by the Denazen group in order to use their abilities in negative ways. When Kale meets the daughter of the ring leader by accident, Dez learns that her father is not who he seems to be at all and really the enemy.

This is only the beginning of one of the most exciting adventures I've read in quite a while and I simply could not stop reading. I felt like E.T. following that seemingly never-ending trail of Reese's Pieces to get to the large bag of chocolate, peanut butter filled goodness at the end! So my analysis' are somewhat crazy, I know but my point is that Jus Accardo is definitely going to go far with her writing.

For an older woman that loves YA fiction of all types, even Stephenie Meyers "Twilight" Series did not have me near as impressed nor as excited to read more as this book does. That was another thing I loved about this book, the relationship between Dez and Kale had far more passion than so many other couples in other YA books I've read. The intense emotional draw was real, not something designed by societies acceptance of "how to go far without going too far."

Keep writing Jus! I'm waiting patiently for the next one!

Intense!

Wow! This was a great book! I was definitely intrigued by the hottie on the cover but I was a little skeptical of the whole weird-guy-who-showers-with-my-shoes-on thing. Ultimately I was too curious to find out what the heck his deal was, so I had to read it. Turns out, Kale may be a little strange, but he is absolutely amazing! And Dez is great, too - she's sarcastic & strong-willed, and not afraid to go for what she wants. Fans of X-men, The 4400, & Heroes will especially love this book!

Highly Recommended for lovers of YA Paranormal Thrillers

I loved every minute of this book. It was my favorite kind. Fast paced, action packed, full of surprises and it had a great romance in it. Now, I know you're all going to say, insta love oh no. But in this case, I think it's a given. There's something special about the relationship between Dez and Kale. She's one of a kind for him. He's never touched another person before, never been touched because his touch kills. The outside world is like Disneyland to him, full of wonder and new things, but also scary because Denazen Corp. is after him and now Dez. But he will do anything to keep her safe from them and stay with her.


Dez for her part is tough as nails. She's grown up without a mother and has been trying to gets her father's attention ever since. If she can't have his love, then she'll take his anger and she does a lot to make him angry. But he really doesn't seem to care, until the night with Kale.


The next few days lead Dez and Kale on a wild goose chase looking for someone to help them break some sixes out of Denazen. Dez has to lead Kale around like a child seeing the world for the first time while trying to stay out of her father's clutches. People are killed for knowing too much. People are revealed as sixes that Dez has known all her life. She's betrayed, let down, surprised and confused.



To say there are twists and turns in this book is putting it mildly. It's like Space Mountain at Disney World. It shoots through the dark at lightspeed (it felt like that) and you can't see where you're going until the next turn. You're body goes one way, you go another. That's what the story line is like. Don't ever think you can predict what's going to happen. Not with the unusual power of the sixes. Everyone's powers are different and they are incredible.


My favorite lines in the book: To set the scene up, Kale is trying to understand the girlfriend boyfriend thing and he calls it holding hands. This is directed at Alex, Dez's ex-boyfriend: "You hurt her. She told me. Why do you care if she lets me kiss her? She holds my hand now, not yours!" (p.113)
I think that is the sweetest thing in the world he could have said! She holds my hand now, not yours! I just love that about Kale.


Anyway, this is a fantastic novel. YA paranormal lovers are going to eat this up. Yes, it does have sex in it so you decide if you're old enough. It's extremely tastefully done and in no way overly explicit. I was really impressed with the way it was written. The romance is not the focus of the story, but it's one of them, so if that bothers you, well you'll miss out. I really cannot recommend this one enough. I'll be pushing this one on everyone!
Buy it. Read it. Give it to friends that read YA!

Fantastic Debut

This has been a year full of great debuts and let me tell you that this one has definitely not been a disappointment. This novel from the very beginning promised to be great. A hot guy in the middle of the woods, totally lost and scared? I HAD to know what happened.
Dez is the only one who can touch Kale without him killing her and that makes everyone wonder and ponder.
Kale has definitely won a spot in my heart and very rapidly crawled his way up to the top 5 of my favorite male characters ever. I am in love. He has this sort of sweet innocence that blew me away, and those blue eyes? To die for!
Dez is also a character I really liked because she's very much in charge of her image and she's strong and has a clear mind of how she wants things to be done. She knows how to use things to her advantage and she doesn't let anyone mess around with her.
Accardo has a way of writing things that I really like. They're witty, funny and fresh.
This novel will wrap you up in suspense and leave space for a promising sequel to come. A fantastic read.

One of the best YA novels around!

This book Rocks! Ahem, excuse me. Just had to get that out. Okay, TOUCH is the story of Dez, a strong, opinionated, no-holds-barred girl raised by a non-existent single father who happens upon a mysterious, hot guy in the woods. His name is Kale (well, sort of) and Dez is instantly drawn to him. And things only get better from there. Kale is one of the best leading guys in YA . He's hot, and strong, and hot, and mysterious, and hot. Um, yeah, sorry again. But seriously, Kale is great. He has been basically locked away his entire life, so once he's out, everything is new and foreign to him, and Dez has to help him learn his way. While doing so, they both fall hard for each other, and the moments they share are enough to keep this book going by themselves, without any of the awesome action. And speaking of action, TOUCH is loaded with it! Dez's father works for a company called Denazen, that has more secrets than the White House staff. Denazen is up to no good, and Kale and Dez get caught in the middle of a supernatural tug-of-war that leads to an intense, edge-of-your seat ending that admittedly had me biting my nails through every page. This story flows very well, leading you along as Dez and Kale try to figure out exactly what's going on while trying to stay alive. Filled with secrets and surprises, plus some kick-butt supernaturals, TOUCH is an exciting, pulse-pounding read that I didn't want to put down. I am happy to give TOUCH 5 stars, and I am eagerly awaiting the sequel, which I know will be as good (or better) than the first. Hurry, run out and get a copy now!

Thrilling!

Seventeen-year-old Deznee Cross' soul-purpose in life is to piss off her father any way she can. When a hot guy stumbles through the woods and falls at her feet as she is walking home from a party, she sees this as the perfect opportunity to annoy her father. She'll take mister HotStuff home with her, let him use their shower and maybe let him stay the night. The guy's name, she learns, is Kale, and to say he is odd is an understatement. He freaks out when she tries to touch him, and he is completely enamored with simple things such as vases and DVD's.

The reaction Deznee gets from her father is not exactly what she expected. Rather than being annoyed, her father pulls a gun on Kale and demands that Deznee get away from the boy as he is dangerous. What Deznee will soon learn is that her father isn't really a lawyer. He works for the Denazen Corporation, and Kale recently escaped. Denazen collects people they call Sixes. Sixes have extraordinary abilities due to an anomaly in the sixth chromosome. Kale just so happens to be one of the more powerful sixes - he can disintegrate any living thing just by touching them. It's now up to Deznee to help Kale escape, but what she soon learns is that her father hides even more secrets than she ever could have expected, and eluding he and his cronies is no easy task.

I absolutely loved this book. It reminded me a lot of the first season of Heroes. The writing is very fast-paced, and Ms. Accardo does an excellent job of giving the reader just enough time to catch their breath before she sends them spiraling into more action. I loved the characters and the rich, vivid descriptions. While the story had the potential to move into the absurd, or even worse, a clichéd super hero novel, I never felt it did. Everything about it felt fresh and well-organized. I can't wait to read the next installment!

Amazing Great book!

I can tell you that right from the start this book had me extremely engaged and would not put it down. I just fell in love with it the moment I started to read it! So much innocence yet danger around every corner, Touch is a book so enticing that you have no choice but to finish!

I loved the plot line of this book. It always intrigues me when a character can not touch anything, and hidden from the world. The aweness of Kale and everything he was learning had me laughing. I loved that the plot delve deeper than what I expected. It open doors to betrayals, secrets were exposed, but also new ones were made.

The characters of this book really held on to me. I like that Ms. Accardo made it easy for the reader to step right into the story. Everything as I read, felt fresh, alive, and unique. I can say that once I started this book, I was no longer in my world, but running to fight for my life in the one she created! I loved that for the short moment in time, Ms. Accardo gripped me with her writing and took me somewhere wonderful.

Now the love interest was definitely unique and beautiful. Unique well cause just the situation their in made it so much more fun to see develop. Beautiful cause with all of their struggles, the manage a peaceful love, a love that is strongly bonded and can not be broken.

Touch is a great novel of action and adventure. Learning of what the government does, the hiding, the killing, had me reading the book faster. Over all, Touch is a beautiful touching book with a dark history spewing out of the pages. *There is cursing/sex scene*

Possibly the best read of the year for YA paranormal romance

Jus Accardo writes killer chemistry with an action packed and emotional story. Touch is possibly the best read of the year for YA paranormal romance, certainly one of the best debut novels of the year.

While reading Touch I was swallowed by Dez's emotions. I felt anger that was ignited by an infuriating father and his lack of parental relationship. I wasn't just ticked off as an adult reading Touch, I was actually pissed off in a way I haven't felt since I was 16. I also felt the rush of adrenaline, laughed, smiled and shed a tear or two with Dez.

I adored Kale, the boy that showers with shoes on. He is sweet, innocent and pure in a childlike way. But he is also a lethal weapon trained to act on the commands of his authoritarian figures.

Dez is a smart mouth, street tough teen that is raising herself and a whole lot of heck for her father. But she is hiding something from him and the rest of the world. She has a secret that she discovered at a young age. It could be the one thing that brings salvation to her life and loved ones or be the thing that damns her to a life of imprisonment.

The chemistry between Kale and Dez is electric, spontaneous, sincere and impossibly perfect. I want more of them and more of the vast characters that emerge throughout the story.

Would I buy this book? Yes

Would I read it again? Already have.

Would I recommend this book for a teen? There is a sex scene, alcohol use, violence and lack of positive parental guidance. While Touch does appeal to teens, it has mature content so I would recommend it as a YA read or to mature teens.

Adults that border on liking YA may have a difficult time appreciating Touch. It is fast paced adventure and like many YA books have constant obstacles the characters must overcome to reach their goal. There is an introduction to many characters and unless you're paying attention you may miss something key to the story. I for one loved it - Touch will be in my top ten lists of favorite books this year.

My favorite book EVER!

Touch is one of my favorite books of 2011. There I said it. So don't be surprised in December when Touch shows up on those lists! I have pre-ordered a paperback copy and I bought it for my Kindle. CRAZY!

I'm writing this review with my heart beating out of my chest and my hands shaking. I have plans to re-read all of this awesomeness again as soon as I'm finished writing this gushing review!

After the above paragraph, you are probably wondering what all the fuss is about. From the first chapter, we are sent on a roller coaster into what I could only describe as a young adult novel with characters who have superhero type powers, but at the same time.entirely different. This seems to be the most fitting way for me to put into words the general theme of this book. Anything I say after the first chapter or so could contain TONS of spoilers, so I'm leaving anything related to this aspect of the story hush, hush.

Our main character Dez is totally bad a*#!!! I'm in love with every single thing about her! She is what a young adult female character should be! She's rebellious and stands up for what she knows is right.

This book has more layers than a seven-layer dip! Seriously! Once I thought my brain had finally wrapped itself around what was happening, something new was in my face! I had no time to guess any major or even minor plot points! So many twists! The plot was face paced! I can't believe the author shoved that much action and plot into only 2xx pages! Tons of action! I was wanting to devour every single word. Some action scenes can put me to sleep, not these!

ROMANCE! Dez & Kale! I won't be able to say enough about these two, but it is one of the best romances in a book I've personally read about and enjoyed. Kale is sweet, cute, but more! You just need to read about him for yourself, I'm serious!

The ending was pretty freaking EPIC! Everything came together perfectly, so many different ties that we needed information about. No cliffhanger! That is a total plus, I was reading expecting to throw my e-reader out the window, but Jus Accardo saved us from having to endure torture waiting for book number two. She set the story up brilliantly for another book by adding new elements at the end.she's just brilliant! Many first books in a series, I can easily pass up reading the subsequent books, but not with the Denazen series!

I will close this review saying I was left with a book high (yep HIGH as a kite!) once I finished that final sentence. If only every book left me and everyone with that same feeling.more people would be avid readers! If the summary didn't convince you to pick up this book, hopefully my review has done it for you!

Epic YA Paranormal

This book epitomizes "epic-ness at its pinnacle"; It is an electrifying, stunning debut.

I don't know what to say about this book, cause frankly, it was perfect, in every sense of that word. The suspenseful, action-packed, complicated but wholesome plot to the professional characterization, they were all wonderfully delivered. The thrill of the chase, hide-and-seek and having to second-guessing everyone's motives, the pain and heartache the characters felt and went thru permeated out of the pages and boy, was it nice to soak up all that lovely Paranormal YA goodness.

The first thing that I feel obligated to highlight, is the complexity and entirety of the plot. It was so detailed, so well-thought of and planned..it was just amazing, really. All that, and it never got confusing. Mind you, "confusing" and "complicated" are 2 very separate entities. It actually made it all the more believable.

Initially, I wasn't very taken by the whole adrenaline-junkie, all punk-girl attitude that was Dez , but she became mature and she knew how to take matters into her own hands. I liked that about her. Her inner strength and resilience, add to that a funky and funny personality, it all just made her such a likable character.

This series is a very refreshing take on the whole YA Paranormal front, a very impressive debut. A nice little blend between the cool-ness of Xmen and his buddies, a little mix with the big, evil organization of the MINDER series by Kate Kaynak (click to see my review), and add in the fray Dan Brown's awesome mystery skills and you have TOUCH. This book, in its own right, is in a league all on its own.

Amazing Book

I was blown away by this book. This isn't my genre of choice, but I was looking for something new so I gave it a shot. Jus Accardo has a new fan. Her book drew me in, and within 5 pages I couldn't put it down. I finished this book in about 4 hours because I couldn't stand not knowing how it was going to end. The story keeps you guessing without being over the top, the characters feel like your friends, and by the end you feel like you've been living it right along with Dez and Kale. I can't wait for the next book, KEEP THEM COMING!

I'd Chance This Hero's Touch

I've heard about Touch for a while now--been panting after it really. I finally finished some projects and decided to dig into the book that just keeps coming up on all of my feeds. Usually, that's a pretty good sign that it's going to be awesome.

I downloaded the ebook and began reading it on my phone while waiting for my daughter's dance class to end. I was about two pages into it and decided that I just couldn't do it. It might have been my distractions or the fight I'd just had with my lovely teen, but when the book started out with a smart mouth teen jumping off roofs, I just couldn't do it. So, I shut the file and tossed the phone on the passenger seat.

On the ride home, my daughter rifled through my phone as a means to not speaking to me. She opened Touch and began reading. These are her exact words, "OMG. Mom, whose book is this? It's not yours, this is a cool chick. You write hot and steamy old ladies. What is this?"

Now, you see why I might have been a little put off by the book in the beginning? So, I snatched the phone from her and refused to allow her to finish it. Punishment? Maybe. But, it made me wonder if I wasn't unfairly tossing aside Ms. Accardo's book just because my teen was a pill.

So, last night, I gave it a second chance and OMG, I'm so glad I did. I have to say, I've only read a handful of YA novels that have really stuck with me. Touch is not like any other book I've ever read--it's infinitely better. It reminds me of some of my favorite shows when I was growing up. This will date me, but do you remember the TV sereis: Misfits, with Courtney Cox? This book takes me back to that show in a big way. Not that it mimics the series or any of the characters, but it's your basic mutant/superhero with a flair of biopunk romance.

I loved it. LOVED IT! I'm so glad that I gave Touch another go. There is a beautiful dark quality in the love story. Dez, the heroine, thinks she's a rough and tumble street-smart girl, but she really doesn't have a clue as to what is really out there. Kale is your tortured hero to the highest power and his innocence makes him so extremly hawt. I found myself wanting to thrash Dez and hug Kale and then hug Dez and hug Kale some more on so many different pages.

This is one of those books that you'll not put down. And when you're done, you'll need more. I'm now a Touch superfan. Just saying. If you haven't bought this book, you're so missing out. And if and when it makes it to the big screen, I'll be able to say, "See, told you it was that good."

Unexpected Developments That Left Me Curious

A Recommended Read For Paranormal Lovers

I was incredibly surprised by Jus Accardo's Touch, mostly because I wasn't quite sure whether or not a YA novel about a secret organization using children with supernatural abilities could be pulled off, especially whilst weaving it with a strong romance. Jus Accardo, undoubtedly, grasped my interest immediately with Kale's appearance and I found myself wanting to dig deeper into the tale.

A Prisioner of Denazen Corporation

In her fresh new YA paranormal romance, Jus Accardo puts to page a wonderful cast of interesting and attention grabbing characters. Dez, Touch's protagonist, was quite different in comparison to other main characters that I've read in the past. In terms of Dez she appeared to be quite the dare devil, putting all thoughts on negative consequence behind her and leaping before thinking things through. Though at times it did seem unappealing, Dez's character did make it up with her peculiar and vibrant personality and a deep intention of getting to the root of the issue. Now, about Kale...I fell in love with him. I swooned and I sighed. Kale immediately came across as a lovable yet very mysterious character and I couldn't help but want to discover more about his past.

Unexpected Developments That Left Me Curious

Character growth, however, didn't seem to develop very much throughout the novel. Dez unfortunately still appeared to be the same character she was in the beginning, though Kale showed significant growth and realization, now getting used to the outside world and adapting to his brand new surroundings. One character that I did heavily dislike was Dez's father. He immediately shook me the wrong way, leading me to despise him for the way he treated his daughter. Furthermore I found that most of the secondary characters lacked much background, especially when I would have preferred to have learned far more about them. The story's developments, however, were a different matter altogether. They were beyond surprising, unpredictable, and exciting - I loved it! Jus Accardo had me on the edge of my seat wondering about the corporation and the characters, knowing and hoping that there was more than met the eye. The romance in Touch also struck a very high cord with me. Despite being quite predictable, I found that Jus Accardo did a wonderful job depicting swoon worthy moments that had me blushing like a teen reading something she shouldn't have (if you get what I mean *wink wink*)

Jus Accardo's Touch was beyond what I expected. Within it's pages it held an incredibly interesting and exciting supernatural tale that had me gripping the pages with absolute wonder. I highly recommend Touch to paranormal romance lovers!

Thrills, Chills, and Amazing Kisses. Oh My!

WOW, my adrenaline is pumping right now. You know how in books the character usually says, "I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding"? Well, I couldn't breathe the last half of this book. My muscles were tense and my heart was pounding. I'm so impressed with TOUCH. I was hooked from chapter one. And the cover?! I can't stop staring at it. Dez is not your typical girl. She's hardcore. She lives for moments of adrenaline rushes and freedom. Underneath her tough exterior though, is a big heart. She meets this strange guy named Kale (enter swoon here), and for some reason she decides to help him. Kale is complicated and Dez has a hard time figuring him out. He doesn't understand anything around him. Things get really interesting when Dez discovers that her dad knows Kale and let's just say he's not his biggest fan. A life she thought was completely normal turns out to be anything but. Secrets are revealed and trust is broken. TOUCH is full of intense action and heart melting romance. Jus Accardo has nailed it!

Thrilling, sexy, AMAZING.

Kick-ass, thrilling, fun, and seductive, Jus Accardo created a FANTASTIC story that has everything you could ask for.

Jus Accardo created such a brilliant story with Touch. The story line, the characters, the sexiness, the laughs, the thrills... it's all so brilliantly done. I love the world of "sixes". Honestly, I wish I was one! I don't know what I'd want my power to be. I mean, changing dreams, touch, shape-shifter, reading thoughts, being able to move things, being a healer... there are endless possibilities. The whole story is one thrill after another and the world is modern yet so creative and I loved every single bit of it.

The first character I need to talk about is Dez. She's not your typical female role, and it's a fact I love about her. She has blonde hair with black streaks, face piercings, she parties, acts out, she's funny and strong-willed, and so bad-ass. Also, all her best friends seem to be guys.... this is me! I completely understand having mostly guy friends. I just click with them better, as it seems Dez does. Dez is so persistent and clever, and I adored her.

So, yeah the boys. There's lots of them! *squeee*! I'm going to talk about two in particular: Alex and Kale. Okay, lets start with Alex. So, many people will probably disagree with me after reading the whole book, but I honestly really liked Alex. First off, he's sexy as hell. Next, even though he may not have made all the right choices, I understand why he made them. Almost everything Alex has done was out of love for Dez and that made me like him so much more. There were times when I wanted to kiss Alex and others where I wanted to kick him in the shins, but that being said, I am really fond of his character because I kind of relate to him. I also don't think Dez would be where she is today without him. And I'm hoping we will see more of him in book two.

KALE. Oh Kale. First, scroll up and look at that cover! LOOK AT HIM. Yes, Kale is the definition of SEXY. I am so jealous that Dez can touch him. I mean death may be worth trying to touch him.... mmm bad idea. Kale is 100% one of my new book boyfriends [so everyone back off ;)]. Any who, I loved Kale. He grew up basically trapped and caged and when he finally gets out he experiences so much with Dez. I was constantly laughing at some of things Kale does because he doesn't know any better. Example: "We took off our shirts." HAH. There are so many more adorable, cute, "aww" moment lines from Kale, watching him experience everything was just one of the many things I loved about him. But, Kale is so much more than that. He's strong, not to mention powerful, but he has has such a pure heart and his head is always in the right place. I cannot rave enough about this boy.

There are so many other characters that make this story what it is as well. Cross, Dax, Ginger, Sue, Brandt... and the list goes on.

Jus Accardo blew me away with Touch, and I honestly am dying for the sequel. I love the world, the story, the characters, and every feeling she gave me while reading. Touch was the perfect mix of everything for me. Just enough thrill, just enough laughs, just enough kick-ass, just enough sexiness, and just enough sweetness. I couldn't have asked for a better story from her. Bring on the next one please!! :)

Nice suprise

Was not expecring to like it so much!

This book was a great and refreshing surprise. I loved every min

This book was a great and refreshing surprise. I loved every minute of it and can't wait to read more of this series. It was such a cool read and I loved Dez right from the start. She had me hooked with all her wit and sarcasm and her ability to take care of herself. I loved that she was different from most girls and was for a change a typical rebellious teenager. It was refreshing to see her acting like one and not all wrapped up in a boy like a lot of teen heroines seem to be in books lately. I do think at times she was a little over the top in the ways she tried to get her dad's attention.




Oh when Dez meet Kale I think I was more hooked on him them she was at first. I mean what wasn't there to love with the good looks,amazing manners and mysterious ways. You could tell there was just something a little different about him but the author wrote him so well that you found it endearing. It was so cute seeing him really see and learn things for the first time with Dez as his teacher. They were just so cute together. I loved how protective of Dez he was though from the start. The action really amped up once Dez learned who her father really worked for and what Kale really was. I loved how the author created the special abilities that the sixes had. They were all so unique and different and truly amazing. They were like teen X-men.




The author set such a good pace with the book that I looked up shocked that I had finished it so quickly. I was glued to it from start to finish without wanting to put it down the whole time. I loved all the characters and their special abilities. I also loved how the author eased Dez and Kale into a romance and didn't make it a quick instalove thing. I could truly see them falling for each other the way that it played out in the book. The author also grabbed my heart with these characters and made me want to learn more about them. I was so glad that I had the next book on hand to get some more back story on Kale. Overall I loved this book and it's highly recommended so go pick up a copy.
