Overview

Do you believe in angels? Eileen Freeman does - and with good reason. As a child, her fear of death was banished by the vision of a loving guardian angel who assured Eileen that her grandmother, who had just died, was not "in a cold grave, but happy in heaven." And she believes the same faithful protector later saved her from disaster. In this enlightening book, the author movingly recalls her personal encounters with angels, and shares what she has learned about who they are and why they are so concerned about the human race that they frequently come to earth to help us. She offers illuminating eyewitness accounts of men, women, and children who have also been touched by these celestial beings. Why are we so interested in angels these days? Why are angels so interested in us? Why are they appearing so often in our midst? And how can we tell if our lives have been touched by angels? This volume answers these questions and more. It will also introduce you to the AngelWatch Network, an organization Eileen Freeman founded as a clearinghouse for all information about angels, especially their activities in the world today. Any you will find further sources to contact for more information about other angel publications and organizations.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
With the surge of public interest in angels over the last couple of years comes this thoughtful presentation by a former theology instructor at the University of Notre Dame. Freeman details both her own angelic encounters and those of other people. Though she is quick to point out that discernment is necessary in interpreting the meaning of possible angelic encounters, she seeks to explain the nature of angels by drawing on both theological sources and her own intuitive perceptions. Her conclusions are speculative because angels (if they exist) do not have material form and thus cannot be subjected to scientific inquiry, but the stories presented provide fascinating glimpses of sometimes miraculous, seemingly divine intervention into people's lives. Written in a conversational style, this book should be popular in public libraries.-- Elizabeth Salt, Otterbein Coll. Lib., Westerville, Ohio
