Nobody ever thinks they will be touched by suicide....until it happens. A person may think that he understands the situation, but, trust me, until it happens to you and you have been 'touched' by it, you don't.
This is a very good book and it is realistic in the advice given. There is no such thing as 'getting over it' and the author acknowledges that. Life will never be the same as it was before the suicide; there is no way that it can be. No situation is ever exactly like another one and therefore, no one can truly understand the feelings of any one person. At the time, it does not feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel but experiences given show that there can be.
I checked this book out from the library because of a family situation that feels so horrific to the point that it seems impossible to forge ahead. It is very fresh though and time will undoubtedly change things. I decided that I needed a copy of my own to refer to. There are certain phases that one passes through and it is good to know that you are not abnormal or 'crazy' for feelings that emerge. Nobody wants to be in this club and unfortunately, many members are added each day. If you find yourself in this situation, I would recommend this book.
