I enjoyed the first book in the Three Cross Faith series so I wanted to continue and read the second book, Touching the Love of a Texas Sunset. Instantly, I liked the characters of Jaimee Sherman and Mac Cooper. I was intrigued that Jaimee had a lot of baggage and wasn’t raised as a Christian. When Mac buys her a Bible, she is touched and starts reading it. She is so open to learning more about the Christian life. I liked how Eryn Grace used a character like Jaimee to show that when a non-Christian opens their heart and mind, they will not be disappointed and will be blessed to receive new life as a Christian. It was truly a joy to see how Jaimee understands how important Jesus is in her life when before she knew so little about the Christian faith. No matter what age a non-believer finds herself or himself at when they learn about Jesus, it’s never too late to accept Him as Savior.

When a surprising event happens during the story, Jaimee realizes that she now has the courage to do the right thing to put away some bad people. I don’t want to say too much and spoil the plot for any reader so won’t say anymore about this development.

Mac is a wonderful hero and the perfect guy for Jaimee, even though she protests about the whole dating thing at times. I enjoyed reading about Jaimee’s special musical talent that she shares with Austin’s band. I also liked reconnecting with the characters, Niki and Austin from Book One. It was wonderful to read about their growth as a family unit.

This is a great series because I like reading about Christian musicians and their trials and joys in life. In each book the characters are well-developed, and they also have a sense of humor which I appreciate while reading Christian fiction.
