It took us about a week to get the rules right but once we did we won our first few times. After a few wins under our belt we were ecstatic with the game wish that Barnes an Noble had this game at retail stores would definitely sell in my area, as well as its expansions.

This game is...interesting. It has a very complicated initial set-up, and it takes a while to learn-but once it is learned, it is always changing. The more players, the better.

This game is a beast, much like the Great Old Ones found in H. P. Lovecraft's works. That's why I think it works so well. The theme is so immersive and allows the players to craft a story within this seemingly senseless backdrop. It's true, the rules are a bit finicky and difficult to learn, but there are some great summaries online that help one catch up quick. The gameplay is cooperative, and feels a bit like a simplified Role Playing Game. Each player takes control of an investigator in order to discover clues about the mythos threat. Along the way, they interact with the fictional town of Arkham and the interesting characters and locations to be found there. Can you learn enough to protect the world before the Great Old One is awakened and set loose upon the earth?
