This is a fun and easy to learn game. The cards are hilarious and there is enough strategy in the game to keep it interesting. There's also a high replayability quotient to this game. It's great for kids and adults and plays well with two people as well as more (it's hard to find games that play as well with 2 people when it's a 2 or more game). The production quality is also terrific.

I was considering getting a game for my birthday, and I read the reviews for several. I decided to gamble on this game. When I examined the packaging and the cards, I thought I made a huge mistake. I was wrong. Bohnanza is a great game that involves lots of player interactions. Shrewd business transactions and timely trades are what make this game tick, and there is something to do on everyone's turn. The rules are fairly simple, but it can take a game or so to really get the hang of it. I taught it to a group of seven in about fifteen minutes; our first game took around ninety minutes, but subsequent games were in the forty-five minutes to an hour category. In fact, we played several games in a row because everyone was enjoying themselves so much. Don't let the concept--bean farming--put you off. This game is worth the price, especially for large groups. (The two-player variant is fun as well, though not quite as strategic. It is a faster-paced and lighter game that can easily be played while talking or listening to something else.)

This is a very fun card game for the family. My grandchildren age 5 & 7 learned quickly. We enjoy playing it because any number of people can play it. It's fun to see who is willing to trade or share.
