This is one of the most interesting games I've played in a while... and I play a lot of games. We have a bookshelf overflowing with Euro games. The genius of this game is that depending on the cards you agree to play with changes how you'll play...some games you'll be the weakest player, and other times you'll be the strongest player. There's an infinite number of combinations you can play with (and that increases if you get the expansion sets) so the replayability factor is extremely high. This is a fairly simple game to learn which makes it a perfect introduction to people who haven't played a lot of games. This game is worth every penny!

I purchased this game for my husband's recent birthday because I knew he liked this type of computer game and I wanted a new board game. All my kids love it. My oldest had recommended Cataan but I wasn't sure if my 6 year old would be able to play it so we settled on Dominion. We all love this game, you can make it as simple or complex as you want. It's my six year old son's favorite game right now. My other kids (19, 10 & 9) also enjoy playing it. It seemed complicated at first but if you follow the set up for suggested first game, it all becomes simple and enjoyable. Before you know it you'll have spies, thieves & witches intermingling with your woodcutters, smithys and militia.

I discovered Dominion recently, and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The premise of the game is easy to understand, and the rules are simple. Each turn follows an ABC pattern (action, buy, clean up), which is easy to remember and teach. However, within this simple framework, there are virtually limitless scenarios because while there are six fixed cards that appear in every game (treasure and victory cards) there are twenty-five variable cards, only ten of which make it into any given game. (Dominion comes with "randomizer" cards that are shuffled; the first ten that are dealt determine which cards will be used for the present game.) Certain cards allow more actions; others allow more buys. Some cards help you; others hurt your opponents. Dominion is a game of trade-offs: the cards that win you the game ("victory" cards) do not help during the game. When they end up in your hand, they are of no value--but they are the only thing that matters at the end of the game. Each game also begins on an even playing field: all players begin with the exact same cards in their deck, but during the game the players buy cards to shuffle in. This keeps things interesting. If there's an awesome card that I can buy, that means there's an awesome card that my opponents can buy. Another great thing about Dominion is that it is still fun to play with only two players. My wife and I play often, and because games go so quickly, we can play many rounds in an evening. If you like strategy games, I highly recommend Dominion.

We LOVE this game! I got it for Christmas, and we have continued to play it several times a week since then. I am a graduate student, and we have played it the whole family, including my parents. We were a little overwhelmed when we opened the box because of all the cards, but everyone picked up the game play quickly. You can make every game you play a little different, or keep it the same and it's still fun. It's a card game mixed with a board game, and deserves all the awards it has gotten! I definitely recommend this game!

2-4 players. It's a card only game that can be completed in about 40-60 minutes depending on the number of players. It provides an infinite number of combinations for repeated play. No two games are the same. A terrific game for "hard core" gamers and family alike. The packaging is top notch. The game mechanics are easy to learn. The game itself is addicting. With this game it's very difficult to say, "OK time to quit." If any, the only drawback is the 4 player limit.

This game is so much fun! You will want to order the expansion sets to add more variety and challenges to the game!

I bought this because we're used to playing Resident Evil's Board game. I heard that was actually based off of this so I thought "Why not?" This is one of our go-to games to play now at family occasions. Almost anybody who knows how to play can win and the game can change every time with the random card selections. This is one of the better board games for those who like a little thought when they play instead of random luck.

Strategy 70%, Luck 30%. Appeals to teenagers and adults alike. Doesn't rely on bluff or lying. Introduced this game at a teenage boy sleepover. We had 4 playing as many as 4 enjoying watching and at least 3 vowing to buy it. All learned it after one game. Good for 2 players as well up to 4. Wish the original game came with option for more players. Recommend getting the card protectors.

My husband and I love dominion. We enjoy strategy-based games and so far this is one of our favorites. It's not too complicated, yet allows for variety in the decks you can use. We've even tought my husband's parents to play, which is evidence that the game is not that difficult. It will hook you in and you won't be able to stop playing!

Played a version of this game with my friends in New York and enjoyed it so much that when i got home within a week or two I bought it. The game is easy to learn, fun to play, and is never the same. The game seems expensive but for all the time you'll be playing it worth it. There are different action cards and when you play it changes per game so its never the same game twice, it also forces you to change your tactics so it doesn't get boring as fast as other games.

I was completely hooked on Settlers of Catan after I first played it and I would have friends come over and we would play, chat, eat and drink. We have tried several games, including Risk (takes so long, though) and this past weekend I was introduced to Dominion. As soon as I came home I looked for a place to purchase this game. It is extremely fun, easy to learn and face paced .. you can easily play this several times in one night (in our case, seven). I just ordered this item from B&N and can't wait to receive so we can have friends over to play (and to share it with my cousins, etc.) I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

My hubby did some scouting after my cousin got us hooked on Settlers of Catan for another great game. B&N offered Dominion which my hubby said had great reviews, so we checked it out. The associate said you can play with just the expansion pack, true, if you own the original. There are cards you need from the original to play the expansion, like $$$$. Anyways, its much like a mesh between monopoly and slap jack. You buy victory points (property if you will) and the cards you have and buy recycle into your hands (much like slap jack) there are also action cards that can help you or hinder your opponent. I prefer the Sea expansion pack because there are a few more twists then the original.
