I received this as a Christmas gift in 2010, and really love it. SO much so that we've bought 4 more sets to give to friends that have played it with us. Learning curve is simple. Strategy comes quickly. You can choose to tell the truth, lie or mix the two up, and it is up to the other players to then play based off of how they think YOU are playing. An entire game can last as little as 4 minutes, but can continue on for as long as 15 minutes, based on how good you can lie, tell the truth, and cover up which one you are using in each round. For those that gave this game a 1-star review, I surmise that they have not spent enough time playing it with smart people. If you are looking for a "conquer and kill" game, then this is not the one for you. But if you want to laugh a lot, tease and taunt the other players about their skills at lying (or not), then this really is a fun game. My family, along with many of our friends, have played this game at least 200 times in the last year. We intend on playing it a lot this year also.

Beware of misleading positive reviews. Any good reviews of this PRODUCT are left by people that enjoy the GAME. Don't be confused by the two. If I were to take 52 index cards, draw playing cards on them, and charge $20, you wouldn't rate my product at five stars just because you like Poker, would you? That's what too many people are doing here: Positively rating a bad PRODUCT based on their opinion of a good GAME. While Liar's Dice is a very fun GAME, this PRODUCT is an overpriced piece of garbage. The dice are unnecessarily smaller than standard size. The four cups are two different sizes, and the cheap labels peel off. The case has no mechanism (latch, magnet) other than gravity to keep the lid closed. Best of all, the rules provided with this product are like no version of Liar's Dice I have ever played. Even Wikipedia has no mention of the nonsense rules that come with this product, and for good reason. I couldn't recommend this product at $10... Anything more is outright theft! The "big box retailer" near me has vastly superior, and cheaper version of Liar's Dice. While I hate to endorse cheap, Chinese-made products, the distributors of this product (University Games) deserve jail time for selling this product to unwitting consumers.

This is a great family game. Don't grade it down just because you do not understand the game. Play it a few more times and I promise you will all enjoy it. We play it at Church Games Night and I have to say it is hilarious.
