Are you an enterprise administrator who wants to develop real world job role specific skills? If you are, then this book is for you! Author Orin Thomas, has done an outstanding job of writing a book that covers the majority of the topics and skills that are the subject of the Microsoft certification exam 70-411.

Author Thomas, begins by showing you how to configure and service Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 images. Then, the author examines password and account lockout policies; as well as, fine grained password policies and Group Managed Service Accounts. He continues by showing you how to understand DNS zones and forwarders. Then, the author shows you how to manage domain controllers. He then shows you how to back up, restore, import and export GPOs. Next, the author includes three lessons that take you through commonly used basic Group Policy settings, discusses how to extend Group Policy through the use of administrative templates, and shows you how to use the Group Policy preferences feature to minimize the need for logon and startup scripts. He continues by showing you how to deploy and configure an NPS, configure different networks, and understand Network Access Protection policies; as well as, how to configure and deploy the infrastructure required to support those policies. Then, the author shows you how to configure RADIUS servers, clients, and proxies. He then shows you how to use File Server Resource Manager to control the type of files that are stored on the servers. Finally, the author shows you how to monitor and configure auditing for computers running the Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 operating system.

The number one goal of this excellent book is to show you how to perform tasks that you may need to perform on a day-to-day basis in your role as a Windows Server administrator. This great book will assist you in preparing for the exam, but it’s not a complete exam preparation solution.
