We read it together and discuss the historical events. Some are heartbreaking. One thing Miss Grey could have done to improve the historical part would have been to put the notes at the end of each chapter or have active links to the notes. An e-reader does not make it easy to go to the notes at the end of the book. We would not recommend buying Traitor unless you intend to purchase Tribunal also. Traitor really leaves you hanging.

A good friend loaned me this book, which I had heard of, but not known a thing about. Once into this outstanding novel in every way, I could not put it down!!! This book takes a hold of you and takes you on a roller coaster ride you will never forget. The story begins with Marie Jacobsen parachuting into enemy lines in war torn France and Germany during World War 2. She is a young woman born in France, but raised in Utah, but now she's a spy working with the Resistance and getting to see her fiance, but she gets captured by the Gestapo and fears for her life. Since the sequel comes out 5 Jan, I don't have long to wait to see what happens next. As you can see, I ABSOLUTELY loved this first time author's novel from the get-go. I would advise everyone to run to their nearest bookstore, amazon or library to read this most exciting, riveting novel. If this novel doesn't win the Whitney, there is no mercy.

I have read a fair amount of WWII historical fiction but was pleasantly surprised by Traitor by Sandra Grey. Set in 1943 France and Germany, the book has a strong plot and clever and unexpected plot twists, as Marie and Rolf 'American prisoner and Nazi captor' both fight for survival and to stay true to their seemingly opposing convictions. Traitor is an excellent, thoroughly researched novel, and I look forward to the sequel 'Tribunal' when it comes out. I give Traitor my highest recommendation!
