I am still reading this story. It tells of the author's adventures and observances as he walks from Ohio to California in the 1880's. He deals with extreme temperatures, wild animals and unsavory men as he discovers the west for the first time. He describes in detail his impressions of the magnificent and diverse scenery that makes up the southwest.
Some bad OCR but still readable
