Overview

This article with pictures and screenshot is for people who use more than one device for writing like I do. I tried a number of devices, including laptops and Android tablets with Bluetooth keyboards for writing when I’m away from home or the office.
The biggest problem was transferring the files and synchronizing what I did in different places on different devices. Most of the time it didn’t happen. Google Chrome changed all that for me and this booklet shows how simple the synchronization of your writing or editing files becomes using Google Chrome.
My initial concern was security and what if … I lost my files. In reality using Google Drive was more secure that what I was doing. Included in pictures and text is how simple it is to ensure you never lose a file.
You will see why I’m passionate about it. It’s about 3200 words plus pictures and keyboard shortcuts showing how Google Chrome leaves everything else in the dust.

Meet the Author

I live in Independence, Oregon in the Willamette Valley, a small town surrounded by farms, hop fields, vineyards, nearby mountains and the Oregon coast. Sometimes I take my kayak to a coastal stream and ride the tide out to the ocean where I play around for a couple hours then get a ride back to the car on the incoming tide.
Up until now I’ve written technical articles for automotive websites, mostly related to European cars of which I’ve owned many including over 100 Volvos. I decided it was time to have some fun with other projects.
Charles Risen

My areas of interest are largely related to the Oregon mountains and coast. A favorite endeavor for me is riding the tide out to the ocean in my kayak, playing there for a couple of hours then getting a free ride back to the car in the incoming tide. Which proves that I’m lazy, most kayakers really work at it.

Sometimes I walk a lonely beach and thoughts come rushing at me like the waves that break with the water rushing up the sand. Then I write really profound stuff and send it off to where you send really profound stuff and they send me $10,000 dollars every week and thank me for what I contributed to … the arts, or society or whatever. (Don’t I wish!)

Most of the time the page is blank, and I’m staring out to sea. It’s great to be alive.
