Overview

Richard Greener tells the story of his heart transplant and the complications that turned him into a paranoid and suicidal quadriplegic who couldn't move a muscle, couldn't even swallow. He had violent hallucinations based on the Iraq war and the reports of terrorism and violence constantly playing on his hospital TV tuned into CNN. He believed his family to be in danger, but he had no way to communicate with them. For a long time after the whole ordeal, he had trouble knowing what had happened. What was real and what wasn't.

Editorial Reviews

Trapped is a story of one man's horrifying experience while in a coma after a heart transplant. The writing really drew me in and was clear and flowed well. I learned some things about heart transplants that I didn't know before and really felt for this man's struggle to come to terms with both his experience during his coma and struggle to return to normal after coming out of it only to be paralyzed. I also found it fascinating to read about his personal dilemma over his new heart.

Interesting story, hours after reading it I couldn`t stop thinking about it. In just a few pages the author manages to lead the reader into thinking off the beaten path. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it for purchase. Above all I can not wait to tell others of the authors unique experience.

Meet the Author

Richard Greener, the creator of Walter Sherman in "The Locator" novels, THE KNOWLAND RETRIBUTION and THE LACEY CONFESSION, to be seen on FOX TV beginning in January 2012 as "THE FINDER", was born in New York City in 1941. He and his family have lived in the Atlanta area for more than 35 years. After more than a quarter of a century in broadcasting where he was a partner in a national company that owned and operated 30 radio stations from coast-to-coast, poor health forced Mr. Greener into retirement. He began writing novels under the unique twin circumstances of pain and uncertainty while on the waiting list for a heart transplant. All's well that ends well and he is alive and still writing today.
