Trauma Alert is the first in a new series from Radclyffe that will feature First Responders, professionals who react to a crisis on the ground level. These books are meant to be romances. Anyone who expects to learn much about how these people are trained or carry out their jobs will need to look somewhere else. With a clearly stated purpose, the characters become the focus of the book. Secondary characters are used to provide background material or to illustrate personality traits of Ali and Beau, but there is no mistaking that this book is mainly about the interactions between them. Though they may appear complicated to other people, the reader will quickly figure out that they aren't really. They are simply two women who have been hurt and haven't figured a way to get over that yet. Radclyffe has a winning formula. She basically writes the same two characters, giving them different names and putting them in different situations in each book, but following the same progression to the same result. It's difficult to argue with success and her many fans prove that they like what she writes. The plot isn't complicated, but the story is well told and there are a number of sex scenes thrown in to spice up the activity. This is a good one for an afternoon or evening of escapism.

I highly recommend this book! It's a stand alone book for anyone who hasn't read any of her books, but it includes a couple characters from earlier books to help, make the storyline easier to follow for people who know her works!

As a frequent reader of Radclyffe's works, I have to admit that I was honestly disappointed by this work. The characters were flat and the romance almost seemed like an afterthought. I have read almost all of Radclyffe's books, but this one has almost put me off the "First Responders" series all together.

I bought the book and literally couldn't stop reading. I read it in just over a day. I don't think that I have ever found such chemistry between two fictional characters that I couldn't actually see. The writing was amazing. The background characters were writen just as well as the main charaters. The story was sweet, romantic, funny, dramatic and sexy. Loved every bit of it and would highly recommend. Now on to the next one.

Trauma Alert is gut-wrenching, heart warming, sexy, and endearing. The story line flows with believable characters and their myriad of emotions.

Summary: Dr. Ali Torveau knows just how fragile life can be--she sees death and tragedy every day in the trauma unit. Battling the dark forces of fate is her life's work and she doesn't want or need anything else, certainly nothing as transient as love. Not until firefighter Beau Cross shows up in her ER. My review: I loved it. Beau pursues Ali who is adamant about not dating. Ali fights her attraction to Beau. She is afraid of getting hurt especially since Beau is a firefighter and has a significant higher chance of dying.
