I first read this book at the age of 13 after watching the T.V. show starring Kurt Russell and Dan O'Herlihy. The book fascinated, educated, and enthralled me over the years. Each time I reread the novel, I came away with something new! It took almost 40 years for me to find a reprinting to replace my well-worn, pocket-sized copy. Give it a shot. It's a great read with truly endearing characters.
Why is this EBooks twenty bucks? I will check it out at the library rather than pay twenty bucks for an electronic version. Disappointed in you, B&N.
Good read but not equal to Lonesome Dove.
