Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly

Moreau's intricately illustrated full-color stumpers include a skeleton-strewn jail, rat-infested interiors and a room full of scattered weapons. Back pages provide solutions. ( Nov.) This puzzle book begins with an introduction by Baron Von Maze, the keeper of the castle. The Baron has gathered up valuable treasure and is in charge of keeping it safe. The treasure is carefully and secretly stored in an old castle. It is only with the help of carefully recorded notes in his journal that the right person can claim it. The reader is then guided through a collection of 27 intricately detailed mazes, many of which require mathematical calculation. These castle-themed mazes are quite challenging as well as visually appealing. It is as much fun to gaze at the detailed pictures as it is to solve them. The reader works his way through forests, paths, mountains, and into the castle where he passes through courtyards, banquet rooms, jails and towers. After gathering the treasure the reader has to successfully navigate the way back outside. It is a wonderfully fun journey for puzzle lovers and treasure hunters alike. 2001, Sterling, $7.95.
