Spending the summer in tiny, idyllic Cooper's Landing sounded wonderful to play-it-safe teacher Evie McBride. She'd read, relax and run her dad's antique shop while he set out on a fishing trip. So how did she end up tutoring neighbor Sam Cutter's troubled teenaged niece? Especially since Sam's handsome face and sense of adventure didn't give her a moment's peace. Nor did the news that her dad wasn't out there looking for trout, but for a centuries-old sunken dowry with criminal ties. Ties that bound Evie and Sam to danger...and to each other.

Evie McBride is getting ready to start her summer vacation when her sisters call and ask her to watch Dad's shop while he is away on a fishing trip. Only it turns out to be more than a fishing trip. Little does Evie know that her life is about to change. Also she has no idea of what kind of danger lays ahead for her. Also God is at work in the lives of many people to bring them to God. Evie does not really like Sam Cutter much when she first meets him but it is amazing how God puts people together. As one who has experienced this I relate to this book in many ways. The way faith is all throughout this book keeps one encouraged, lifted up and made to think they need to venture out and trust God more. You won't be able to put it down.
