The death of 93-year-old Helene Frank Elias in 1996 opened a new portal to the lives of Holocaust victim Anne Frank and her family. Helene left Germany in the thirties, but remained in close touch with her brother Otto (Anne's father), with whom she exchanged letters and photographs, and hosted on vacations. Her treasured collection of 6,000 family documents shows the Franks as they were in the years before the great nightmare.
