"Evidence based antidepressant selection across depressive disorders" details the guidelines based on level of evidence and criteria for therapeutic choices. Treatment options for the various subtypes of depression are presented based on evidence and clinical experience. The practical issues of treatment, sequential therapies, and treatment of resistant depression are discussed with strategies of switching and combination therapies. An overview of alternative therapies, such as light, sleep deprivation, and neuromodulation are also covered. Differences in depressive disorders in the elderly, children, and women are highlighted. Every chapter has a consistent format with a conclusion section by the authors that summarizes the evidence. Information is further highlighted in the form of tables, graphs, and appendixes.
