    A Fun Cookbook for Desserts

This is a fun cookbook full of recipes for all kinds of cookies, brownies, and other goodies inspired by the Treats Truck, a mobile bakery business created by Kim Ima who delivers baked treats in New York City neighborhoods in the style of an ice cream truck.

The book tells the story of Sugar, Ima's retro-chic truck, and how the business has grown to include a brick and mortar bakery as well as the fleet of trucks. Included in this cookbook are recipes of the more popular goodies including cookies such as Chocolate Chippers, Oatmeal Jammies, and Raspberry Rings; brownies and bars such as Mexican Chocolate Brownies and Pecan Butterscotch Bars, various cakes and pies, and even ice cream specialties such as ice cream sandwich cookies. Some of the recipes serve as a base for several variations. Also included is a section of frostings and fillings that can be used on the cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.

The recipes are clearly written and include traditional ingredients that can be found in any grocery store. The book is bright, colorful, and a bit busy in the page design but reflects the fun tone of the business and I suspect, of the author herself. There are many color photos, although not of every recipe, but enough to give inspiration.

I made one recipe so far, the gingerbread cookies, which turned out well. There are many more I look forward to trying.

I do recommend this as a fun dessert cookbook that cooks of any level will enjoy. It would be a fun Christmas gift for those who enjoy baking.

I received a copy of this book for review from the publisher but the opinion of it is my own and was not solicited, nor was a positive review required.

The Treats Truck Book is perfect for those who like to bake, but do not
want to have to follow hundreds of steps to get a tasty treat. The
recipes are easy to follow and it is nice to have such a variety of
things to make! I have only tried making one of the cookie recipes so
far, but I look forward to making many more things!
