Meet the Author

Former model and television presenter Patrice Newell was born in Adelaide and now lives in Gundy, New South Wales with her broadcaster partner, Phillip Adams and their daughter, Aurora. She is the author of The Olive Grove, the bestselling account of her biodynamic beef and olive farm. Her book The River was published to critical acclaim in 2003.

Tree to Table: Cooking with Australian Olive Oil is an especially well thought out, meticulously detailed, tried but truly original, ode to cooking with olive oil cookbook from celebrated Australian author/biodynamic farmer, Patrice Newell.  Each and every one of the ingredients found on these pages can be sussed locally if not from Patrice's beloved 10,000 acre farm, Elmswood, in Gundy, New South Wales, Australia. Have no fear.  I have found most of these ingredients close to my own upstate NY home.  I really enjoy cooking. I enjoy it even more when the fresh from the TREE recipes come with such great stories.  Patrice's olive recipes – from soup to cake – have a way of jumping off the page.  You can practically taste each delectable creation before you have actually prepared it.  But wait, the best is yet to come – the tasting!
