Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
In Dershowitz's (www.alandershowitz.com) third Abe Ringel novel—following Just Revenge (1999)—the celebrity Jewish American lawyer is coerced into defending an alleged Palestinian terrorist in order to free his kidnapped daughter. The thriller suffers from a series of some rather contrived situations, but three-time Audie Award winner Dick Hill's adept narration makes it an entertaining listen. Dershowitz frequently appears on TV as friend of Israel or to provide commentary on jurisprudence or human rights; the insights he shares here into the cultures and politics of a possible two-state Israel/Palestine solution are thought-provoking; less intriguing is the famous-jurist-as-superhero premise. Nonetheless, a decent work of adult mystery fiction recommended for fans of Dershowitz and the series.
